It’s been exciting to see William take strides toward his goals, and we expect big things for him in the future. It was a little slow to start, but suddenly came alive and as with all Archer books there's a lot going on and its very exciting throughout. This is the 11th book I have reviewed by Archer (and I read him long before Goodreads was around, so there were plenty more).

This instalment sees William Warwick promoted to a detective sergeant, with his promotion he is moved to another department in this case the drugs squad. Casualties could be massive as these are the roughest of the rough, Warwick will soon learn that this is the least of his concerns. Hidden in Plain Sight follows on from Nothing Ventured and continues with Turn a Blind Eye , but can be read as a standalone story.With his strong ties to family and his workplace, Warwick's character develops throughout this piece and there are hints that he will have to branch out in the upcoming novel, as he is sure to take on a new role or two.

There were several side character storylines, which I think maybe a setup for later books, besides the obvious setup, at the end of this one, for the next installment. You were about to tell us, sir, before DC Adaja joined us, how the new unit will differ from any other existing drugs squads. An issue that arose with one of William Warwick's colleague will have me reading the next book sooner than I anticipated! Jackie took her time removing some of the packing straw before she discovered a jar of foie gras, a luxury way beyond her pay grade. There are unexpected twists and turns at every corner and the witty prose is a perfect example of the well known British sense of humour – dry, laconic but quite funny!My opinion of Sir Julian definitely shifted during this book; I felt like I saw a much softer side to him. With Jeffrey Archer’s trademark twists and turns Hidden in Plain Sight is the extraordinary sequel to Nothing Ventured, the first novel featuring Detective William Warwick. Rashidi leads a public life as the MD of the Tea company, while in private he runs a production center of Cocaine. Subscribe The premise is, of course, very fantastic, with the squad focusing on the investigation of a drug lord while also tackling some unfinished business from the Art and Antiquities Squad. In addition to a thrilling police investigation and suspenseful courtroom drama, Jeffrey Archer gives us with a variety of interesting characters, both good and evil.

As far as the plot about the two on going cases the action was well paced and in court sir Julian and his daughter Grace gave a stellar performance! Remember when you read this that it is set in 1986, so the drug scene could seem quaint compared to the "advanced chemistry set" of drugs available today.This is another enjoyable entry in the William Warwick series although I’m not particularly a big fan of the “to be continued” nature of the ending.
