Description

The Samsung Q60B Soundbar offers various connectivity options for seamless integration into your home entertainment setup. These include:

Overall, though, there just isn’t enough power or dynamic range available to really get the sound out into your room as much as you’d like it to. Verdict This soundbar is a good choice if you don't have space in your living room for satellite speakers. It comes without them, so it offers a slightly smaller footprint overall. Of course, without satellites, its surround sound performance isn't quite as impressive as what you get with the more premium Q990C. Sound effects are more concentrated to the front of your room rather than spreading out all around you for a more clear and real feel. Fortunately, you can always add satellites from the manufacturer separately, which is handy if you move to a bigger space down the line. This soundbar's customization is easy thanks to its room correction feature, which automatically optimizes its sound based on the unique acoustics of your living room. If you'd ratheradjust the bar's sound manually, there's a graphic EQ available, too. Overall, this setup brings an immersive sound, especially with multi-channel content like Dolby Digital and Dolby Atmos. You can even connect the bar to a compatible Samsung TV to enjoy Q-Symphony, which syncs the TV speakers with the bar for a more all-around feel. Built-in Alexa offers hands-free control, too.The Samsung Q60B makes a good first impression on two counts. First, it’s much brighter than the majority of TVs we see in this price category. Bright enough, in fact, to handle high dynamic range sources with genuine conviction – by which we mean that bright scenes, at least, actually look like genuine HDR rather than just like something that’s a bit better than SDR.

Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS, DTS:X (eARC), Dolby TrueHD (eARC), DTS HD-MA (eARC), 5.1 PCM (eARC)Meanwhile, for their HDMI ports, 1 port is for input while the other is shared for HDMI ARC and Output. The advantage of the HW-Q60B is that its HDMI ARC also support eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel). This allows it can play high quality audio format like Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS:X, Dolby True HD, DTS HD MA, and 5.1 PCM. Additionally, its HDMI in also support Audio format that supported by its HDMI ARC. On the other hand, the HDMI ARC of the LG S65Q doesn’t support eARC. This means, it cannot play high-quality audio and only can play what supported by its optical audio in, which are DTS and Dolby Digital. Dolby Digital: This widely-used format provides a higher bandwidth sound that handles five discrete audio channels for surround sound and a subwoofer channel. Their difference is also on the front side. Both sides of the front of HW-Q60B are angled while both sides of the front of the S65Q is elbow. Additionally, on the bar of the Q65Y, there are slightly indentations on the top and bottom side of the front while the HW-Q60B looks stiffer. Their dimension is also not much different. The length of the HW-Q60B is a bit longer, which is around 103 cm while the length of the LG S65Q is around 100 cm. While their depth and width is almost similar, only millimeters adrift. Sub-Woofer Design

Based on our experiences, soundbars can support a variety of audio formats. However, the audio source greatly influences which audio format the soundbar will utilize. We've encountered four commonly used surround sound formats: Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, DTS, and DTS:X. The soundbar and audio source are the components that require support for these audio formats, so you don’t have to worry about your Samsung 65" Q60B TV supporting them. We've examined the differences between each format below: The Q60B Soundbar comes with a wireless subwoofer that adds depth and impact to your audio. The subwoofer delivers powerful bass, immersing you in a rich and cinematic soundstage. Its wireless design provides flexibility in placement, allowing you to position it wherever it best complements your room layout. We updated the Stereo Soundstage score from 7.0 to 6.5. This is a subjective evaluation, and testing the next gen Samsung HW-Q60C gave us a better point of comparison. We also corrected an error in the bar's height in Dimensions - Bar. The Samsung HW-Q60B and LG S65Q have almost the same sound enhancement features. They both have Dialogue Enhancement, Bass enhancement, and Treble Enhancement, allowing you to customize sound produced by them depending on your own taste. Additionally, both also support Night Mode, making them can automatically adjust their Colome depending on the room noise. Their Subwoofer also have level adjustment separately. That is not only that, they also support Virtual Sound. Meanwhile, a bit advantage of the Samsung HW-Q60B is on their EQ. While the LG S65Q only has EQ presets, the HW-Q60B has Graphic and Preset EQ. This means besides you can select its EQ presets that provided, you can also customize it depending on your taste. All Samsung soundbars are very well-built and have a sleek look. You won't find any mesh fabric on them, and you'll be satisfied with their build quality made out of great solid plastic and metal grilles covering the speakers. Both of them are good sound bar for TVS shows or podcast thanks to their discrete center speaker. They both have neutral sound profile, allowing them can reproduce clear voices. Additionally, dialogue is also detailed and present in mix thanks to their balanced mids. So, when you are watching TV shows or Podcast, the voices of announcer will be heard clearly. Additionally, they both also have Dialogue Enhancement features that allows you to further improve the clarity of voice produced. On the LG S65Q, you can use Clear Voice mode while on the Samsung HW-Q60B, you can use “Adaptive Sound” feature. Meanwhile, compare between them, the Samsung HW-Q60B is a bit better. Although in general, both have well balanced sound profile, but the HW-Q60B can produce clearer and more accurate voice thanks to its better stereo frequency response. Both of them also have HDMI out that allows them can act as a hub between your different devices like TV and PC. Special for the HW-Q60B, its HDMI ports can passthrough 4K content with 60 Hz of frame rate. Additionally, it also can passthrough HDR video like HDR10. On the other hand, LG actually has advertised that the S65Q also support 4K video passthrough. But in fact, the highest possible resolution its HDMI ports can passthrough is full HD or 1920 x 1080 resolution. Expected, with a future firmware update, there is an upgrade on its passthrough capabilities like what advertised by LG. The Samsung HW-Q60B and LG S65Q are equipped with the same connectivity. They have 1 Optical Audio IN, 2 HDMI ports, and 1 USB port. Through optical connection, they can play Dolby Digital and DTS audio format. Additionally, you can also play your audio files saved on your USB drive since their USB port can also be used to play audio file. However, you naturally don't get as much flexibility as with the manufacturer's top options. As with most budget bars, there's no support for Dolby Atmos, so you can't take advantage of more immersive object-based formats often found on streaming services. Its surround sound performance is also pretty abysmal. Without discrete surrounds, it has to downmix this content into stereo to play it, which doesn't sound quite as immersive. That said, if you aren't much of a movie fan, it's a great fit. Ultimately, it still makes for a solid upgrade over your existing TV speakers at a wallet-friendly price. Both of the LG S65Q and Samsung HW-Q60B have discrete center speaker, which is good for dialogue. The sound profile of their center speaker is also equally well balanced, making them can produce clear and accurate dialogue. Meanwhile. At max volume, the LG S65Q can get louder, which is around 91 dB SPL, while the HW-Q60B geta round 89 dB SPL. This actually is loud enough to fill a large room, even for the HW-60B. While the S65Q can get louder, the center speaker of the HW-Q60B have better distortion performance at both normal listening volume and max volume. However, although not as good as the HW-Q60B, distortion performance of the S65Q is also good. It can still produce clear and accurate dialogue in the mix.
