I've been making up stories since I was five years old, and now I'm thrilled to be able to do it as a full-time job. I have an obsession with dark fantasy, dystopian futures, and Pride and Prejudice-style love stories full of witty banter and sizzling, unspoken feelings. When I'm not writing, I'm creating digital art, reading funny blogs, or watching my favorite shows (which include TVD and BSG). I live with my geeky husband and our two bad cats in Atlanta, GA. I'm sure a lot of my questions will be answered in Book 2, but I felt a lot of them could have been answered in this one. So I think, in a lot of ways, the book's length kind of hurt the its concept. The ending was an incredible cliff hanger that had me screaming when it ended. I LOVED IT!!! I was gassed. I need so many questions answered. Spice Girl Geri Halliwell-Horner takes you on a thrilling journey in her new book. Suddenly orphaned, Rosie Frost is sent to Heverbridge School on mysterious Bloodstone Island, which is like a Jurassic Park but for endangered animals. Queen Elizabeth I built the school over five hundred years ago in honor of her late mother, Anne Boleyn. With her distinctive red hair and intellect, Rosie is a relatable protagonist who faces adversity with resilience and determination. This is the second book I have read by Kate Avery Ellison. I read and loved her retelling of Beauty and the Beast called The Curse Girl.

Ein Ausschnitt aus der Rede Thomas Bernhards zur Verleihung des Bremer Literaturpreises im Jahr 1965, den er für „Frost“ erhielt, zeigt dies deutlich: But I was very proud that I got to meet him. He started off like me working as a line cook – I worked in a Mexican restaurant, he was in a more high end French place – but he was a normal human who had something to say and people loved him. People loved him because he was honest and funny and spoke his truth. But in terms of having a voice, I felt that voice was better directed at things that I knew personally. And those things often happen to be addiction and alcoholism and grief and trauma. I don't like / won't read zombie books, but I decided to make an exception with this book because: robots! The idea of a world with both robots and zombies (rather, 'eaters', which are different from zombies because they can talk and still somewhat control themselves and their "dietary cravings" and even appear normal) intrigued me.NF: Totally. Often there’s a physical barrier between you when you’re in the kitchen. In our kitchen, we’ve got a little island where the sink is and I stand behind that; I do my prep on that and people stand on the other side. So physically there’s a space. A defendable position. Lia Weaver lives with her siblings, her sister, Ivy and her brother, Jonn. Her parents were killed by watchers. In Frost there are secrets that could kill you and if you roam around you won't live for long. The Watchers watch your every step. They are monsters. The Fathers are from another land. It all starts when Ivy finds him lying on the snow bleeding. By Lia looking after him it means betraying the villages trust. But when they find out that he (Gabe) is a Father and a rouge, Lia's world turns upside down. She finds secrets that have been hidden from her and also finds love. But some time's it can be too late.

Aber, da ist ja noch die Frost-Analogie! Diese könnte das Buch aufwerten, wenn man den Frost mit dem Tod gleichsetzten möchte und ihn als Abtötungsprozess versteht. Often I’d be sitting next to this old lady in her seventies who would just drink gin and tonics but she was completely made up. She always looked immaculate and her hands were always incredible and her nails were amazing and she had lots of gold on. We never really spoke but we sat next to each other and drank and the telly was on. F: Was there anything specific that triggered that understanding and forgiveness? Or was it more of a gradual process?Without spoiling the rest, I will say it’s hilarious and such a fun journey. I loved that the fae and humans coexisted and the humans believed the fae were basically these incredible celebrity/gods that they adored and fangirled over. I LOVED the reality show idea of filming the competition.

This is how this story begins, and for me, this first paragraph was perfect in grabing my attention and interest. I love that the author flips the script on the traditional fairy tale of Prince Charming rescuing the princess, providing an unlikely hero in Rosie. The themes of empowerment and believing in oneself resonate throughout the story, making it an inspiring read for readers of all ages. The book leaves readers on a cliffhanger, hinting at the adventures that await Rosie Frost and her friends at Heverbridge School on Bloodstone Island. Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen is a captivating adventure of empowerment and a must-read for young readers seeking an adventure filled with mystery, history, and a message of finding one's strength and purpose. Kudos to Geri Halliwell-Horner for crafting a literary gem that will undoubtedly captivate readers and leave them eagerly awaiting the next installment in this exciting series. I was asking myself what imagination is. I’m sure imagination is an illness. An illness that you don’t catch, merely because you’ve always had it. An illness that is responsible for everything, and particularly everything ridiculous and malignant. F: Absolutely. One of my favourite quotes is from the US Office: ‘I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them.’ Likewise, it’s important to recognise ‘happily ever after’ once you’ve reached it...

However, I wasn't swept away for any of the other characters - Gabe, Adam, Cole or even Ann. They were just meh personalities that played their various roles, but nothing about their personalities stood out like the Weavers. I think Adam started showing a lot of potential, but I'm sure we'll be seeing more of that in the sequel.

We were just two people, and I was astonished at how easy it was to forget that there were any other barriers between us." THE ROMANCE was fun too! Even though it isn’t really that steamy yet, it definitely hints at becoming much steamier as the romance continues to build 😏 I don’t mind because the book was on the shorter side so I can handle the anticipation and slower build up However, as we delve more into this world and learn more how this world works and how it came to be I have a feeling this aspect is going to get stronger. I’m hoping it gets stronger. My guesses as to the continuing story arc from the ending certainly leads me down that direction but I can’t be sure until I read the next book, Thorns. I was really pleasantly surprised by this book. I'm a huge history buff (the Tudors being one subject I love) and the story meshes fantasy with history very well. This could well be a way to get your teenager/young adult into it too.I had the privileged of being a part of the cover reveal from AToMR Tours for Frost. So when I knew Frost was going on tour I jumped at the chance to be on it. When I read the blurb I was excited to be introduced to a new world.Sometimes we bloggers tend to stay with the same genre but I said hey this good. I have to say I am so glad I read Frost because it left me breathless and wanting book two like yesterday! F: Like pie in a bowl; pasta in a trumpet. OK, I have a pretentious question. What does food mean to you?
