Description

The top sub-dial of the watch is for the minute while the one on the left is for the seconds. The second hand, which has the color yellow, will only move when you use the chronograph. The sub-dial at the bottom is for the alarm and it can also be used for setting a different time zone which is useful when you are traveling. For the money, the Seiko SNA411P1 is a fun and unique piece that despite its larger size on paper is rather universal and can be worn for all kinds of occasions.

All in all, it’s a sporty-looking watch. With raised and recessed details split between a matte, brushed, and polished style, you’ll find yourself amazed by the intricacy of this watch more than once. Case and Strap The Seiko SNA411 is on the bigger side of things. The face is 42mm, but if you include the crown you’ll land on 46mm in total. The height is on the smaller side though, with a total of 13mm. The smaller height is a nice combination with the larger diameter of the watch.

Flightmaster is the Speedmaster’s less pretty sibling

The second half features a selection of watches that clearly pay homage to the Breitling, but add some more unique design cues and individual flair to the mix. Enjoy. The top subdial is for minute counter of the chronograph while the left subdial is for showing the running seconds hand. Now, the flight alarm is a 12-hour alarm that goes off with a beep (much like what you’d expect from a digital watch). There’s no vibration or snooze function like your smartphone, and the alarm is silenced with a push of a button. Slide Rule Within is just a cheap Japanese quartz movement, which is nothing fancy, but does provide accurate time. There is also a butterfly style deployant on the strap, to keep it in good condition for longer. The 200m water resistance is something most people like to see on a more serious sports style watch. The 200m rating makes this suitable for professional marine activity, serious surface water sports, and skin diving.

Couple things that may turn off some people. The chronograph buttons. They have a screw feature where you have to unscrew the rings around the chrono buttons if you need to use the chronograph or set and use the alarm. A bit of an inconvenience but I got over it. I've been wearing this watch for almost 2 weeks straight and I'm not complaining. The steel bracelet is pretty easy to adjust. It is one of th ose push-pin style bracelets but I had zero issues adjusting the bracelet. You may need a special tool for the push pins to be able to get the pins out. You can always take the watch to your local watch repair place for help.

Nevertheless, without buying an illegal replica, this gives you more or less the exact look, just with the Corgeut logo. The two pushers at the right side (top right and bottom right) are used to operate the chronograph. The top pusher is used to start and pause the chronograph while the bottom pusher can be used to reset it. The watch is comfortable and looks super cool. I love looking at the face of it all day. It has a bi-directional bezel for when you need to calculate things (if you're actually a pilot, that is). It's 200m water resistant, although you have to remember that this is a pilot's watch, not a dive watch. I like that this watch also features an alarm, although the alarm isn't too loud. It's more for remind you to do things rather than to wake you up. The alarm feature can also serve as a second time zone when you're flying between different time zones, although when you're using the GMT function you can't use the alarm feature. The alarm can't be used unless the hands are on the same position as the main minute and hour hands. It has both raised and recessed details, matte, polished, and brushed. The watch is equipped with Seiko’s proprietary Hardlex crystal which is slightly domed. It is not a sapphire crystal, which you wouldn’t expect for a watch in this price range, however, it has proven to be extremely durable and scratch-resistant. The Hardlex crystal is made in a way so that it doesn’t shatter as sapphire crystals do. This is especially important in a pilot’s watch, as the risk of shattering the crystal while flying can be a deadly safety hazard. Aviation watches recreate this slide rule to assist pilots make complicated calculations using their watches. I think it’s much more easier to use compared having to punch in a calculator when flying thousands of feet above ground right =p.

Although this watch is not the first one to use this concept, Seiko is the company that was able to execute it well on this wristwatch. It’s totally easy when you know the “rules” to do these calculations. One tips that I need to tell you is that the decimal place (how many 000s after the number) is not really clear from the dial unlike digital calculator. The Seiko SNA411 runs on battery, which will require replacement after a few years (depends on how often you use the chronograph). If you’re looking to put a two-piece band on it, I assume (but can’t confirm) that anything with just a single layer of leather encompassing the spring bars will fit. May be best to get a feel for it with a cheap Nato first though if that’s a style you’re in to. Originally founded in Switzerland, Rotary watches are particularly popular in the United Kingdom; which is their primary market. One of their offerings, dubbed the ‘Chronospeed’, is clearly a homage to the Breitling Navitimer; featuring many of the same design cues.

Authenticity

As mentioned, the watch has three subdials, two of which are used as the chronograph and one that works as an alarm (or an additional time zone). While the dial arrangement is very similar to different Navitimer models, the fonts used are different and this model comes in some alternative colourways that set it apart from some of the ‘clones’ featured in this article. The yellow markings ties with the bright yellow chronograph of the watch, giving it a sporty yet elegant touch that supports its water-resistance of about 200M. Its internal bezel is a bit sloped, so it enhances the overall readability and it lends a bit more interest in its vision. It has the rotary slide rule, the compass ring, the conversion scales, the tachymeter scale, and the chronograph, these make the watch the only tool that you will need for your outdoor adventure, your travels or your maiden flight.

Hi Brian! Happy to hear you got one for yourself. It’s essentially ruined most other chronographs for me. Moving on to the bezel of this watch, it is bold, big, and of course practical. The bezel is not just there for aesthetics but it also serves a purpose. The case is made out of stainless steel and has the durable feel that you’d expect from the practical kind of watch that it is. Looking at the size of the watch, I’d class this as a larger timepiece with its 42mm casing diameter and 13mm case depth. A lot of watches you see these days are around the 42mm mark as it’s become more and more popular.

Fair Prices

The watch was designed and developed primarily for pilots and engineers, and with the built-in chronograph, analog alarm, and a rotary slide rule, you can accomplish a great number of tasks with the watch itself. Being a chronograph also made the dial busier. The 3 subdials definitely take lots of space at the center of the dial until there is no free space at all. This is the very least I would spend on a homage watch, this Corgeut chronograph is an even closer Chinese copy of the Navitimer design, when compared to the Jaragar. They appear to only offer this in two colourways, neither offering the two tone ‘panda’ designs, but aside from that it’s an exact clone of the A13324.
