Like the Titanic, I can see this set doing really well with fans, and those wanting a LEGO experience like no other that befits the LEGO Icons branding. I think though it shows the ingenuity and brilliance of being able to make this out of Lego with the current selection of parts a available. We don’t need the corresponding parts you mention when solutions are already present. "

My least favourite part of the build are these arches, which like the real Eiffel Tower, have no load bearing capabilities and are just there for decorative purposes. There are about 12 parts that come in quantities in excess of 100, including 704x of the badly damaged 1×1 clip mentioned below, and a potentially ‘evil’ 666x 1×6 plates. Naturally, almost all of these high-volume parts are 199 Dark Stone Grey Dark Bluish Gray. The exception is 1×1 Round w/ 5 petals (part 24866) which you get in large quantities in both 37 Bright Green and 28 Dark Green Green. Injection Moulding Quality Issues If you need space, you can also use the set as a very expensive garden ornament. Only half-joking, I think it might look pretty good outdoors. Importantly, though, these facts are not the focus of such a set’s design, but rather the result of the incredible, unbridled creativity that has gone into making it. 10307 Eiffel Tower delivers in every way you would expect such a set at such a price to do so, and then some more, because of this ridiculous scale that it comes in at.The first box, unsurprisingly, focuses on the the bottom of the tower. Looking closely at the art on the box, you can see that this step won’t include any of the actual metal tower at all; just the ground and greenery at the base. With over 10,000 pieces, the experience of building the Lego® Creator Expert 10307 Eiffel Tower Paris is unlike any other. There are 74 numbered bags in the Lego Eiffel Tower set. And while there are plenty of repetitive sections, the level of detail in this set is incredible, and it's clear that a lot of time and effort went into creating it.

The downward force is distributed evenly between all four legs (which fun fact, points to the four cardinal directions), is just so cool to behold, and a great lesson on LEGO engineering. Construction starts with a x2 assembly of the tower’s leg. As we saw in the base, the north/south and east/west legs are color coded red and yellow. This means that rather than a x4 slog, you have to go through two sets of x2, with the only difference being the accent color on a few plates and tiles. LEGO Icons 10307 Eiffel Tower stands as the tallest LEGO set ever created, with one of the largest piece counts of all time and is one of the most expensive so far released. These are facts that speak to the LEGO Group’s recent creative direction that pulls in the headlines, and people to the LEGO Store.I'm mostly with HOBBES here. While there are these solutions, they don't work in all cases. Here it's very much helped by the sheer size of the thing, so building an entire section upside-down and putting another section on top is fine. But in a smaller build such pieces could really help. This is a massive, expensive, and highly anticipated set which deserves serious consideration. To conclude this review, let’s consider the aesthetic aspects of the completed build, value compared to similar sets, and other considerations like learning moments and the practicality of displaying a large (and potentially fragile) set.
