All of this is subjective, but I guess I just like this one more as a feminine fragrance but I think this can still work as a masculine fragrance too - it just doesn't work as well on my skin.

I have bought the Armaf clone of this fragrance and I was satisfied for a long time until i smelled BR540 once again and realized that nothing is ever going to be as close as this masterpiece of a fragrance. nah i dislike it, it is too strong and complex; the beginning note is very sweet, jasmine is not noticeable to me, or it is kind of artificial; the sweetness is overwhelming, even for the middle notes, it's stronger than the woodines imo; suitable for mature women (30+) with sharp character but not me; it's a kind of perfume that cause nausea for me. I’ve sampled this a few times now and I really enjoy it,I get all the notes and different times but mainly sweet and sugary on me for the most part. I won't name them all, but let's just say that I also got five BR540 EDP and extrait dupes, including Cloud by Ariana Grande. Its very powerful perfume is bitter and slightly metallic, blowing hot and cold on the rest of the composition with also a leathery, tarred facet.The dry down is very nice though- particularly after 8 hours that sweetness goes away and you have this unique lived in ozonic quality to it. The dupes are really good, so in my opinion there is no point spending that much on the original BR540. i’ve always wondered about that scent that everyone is admiring and talking about,i never imagined it would be smelling like that !

The extrait version didn't have the latex quality to it at all, and also, I noticed that I would sometimes become anosmic to the EDP but not to the extrait. I don't get any similarities to Her but I do pick up on Cloud's resemblance which is bizarre since the notes are completely different. I have to consciously try to remain impartial when reviewing this, as it has become so familiar that it is tiresome.

I did however want a clone for my personal enjoyment so I got Untold which I can enjoy when I want to experience part of the artistry at home. About a week ago I’ve sprayed Baccarat Rouge on a blotter (ik, I should’ve applied it directly to my skin, but it was a boutique of luxury/niche perfumery and BR wasn’t my priority) and could barely smell a whiff of my “beloved” Cloud by Ariana Grande. It’s inoffensive enough to be worn in the day with a cosy jumper or white shirt, yet unique and powerful enough to finish off any evening look. I gave it about an hour to wear down before I couldn’t take it anymore and scrubbed it off, and in that time the cutting scent did not seem to change a bit. Recently blind bought and smelt for the first time and I have to say that after one try I am completely noseblind to it.Baccarat Rouge 540 extrait de parfum intensifies the radiance of the three auras found in the eau de parfum without betraying the original inspiration. A more mature version of cloud that doesn’t smell tacky, it actually smells very expensive and feminine. It's long lasting, it's memorable, it's like nothing I've smelled before (even though everyone smells like it). Besides the opening, the only thing I despise about BR540 its thats it's outrageously overrated, petty I know.
