And the more time I spend with the seductive king, the harder it becomes to remember it’s all supposed to be fake.

Also mix in her mystery backstory, and his dark secret that has him determined not to fall in love with his wife. Kozlowsky ( The Dyerville Tales) has built a grim and brutal world that’s in shambles after a robot uprising, and John Lord is a thoroughly creepy villain. It wasn't the most original or intricative of stories (although all the princesses and their clans were a bit confusing), but I loved it.I was working (keyword being *was*) while listening to the audiobook, but found myself staring out the window more often than not. In this book we follow Ava Jones a low-born fae thrust into the human world after having her own kind turn their backs on her, we meet Ava at the lowest point in her life, homeless, heartbroken and distraught. As the narrative progresses, the voice of the young narrator increasingly disappears into the voice of Strauch. Bloodstone island is home to exotic creatures such as the petrifying Komado dragons, majestic Falcons and graceful Wildcats who have eyes as deep and mystifying as the solar system.

Suddenly orphaned and alone, Rosie Frost is sent to the mysterious Bloodstone Island—home not only to a school for extraordinary teens, but also a sanctuary for endangered species.Alternatively, we suggest that you visit your local library and request to borrow a copy from a friendly librarian.

I know there are many positive reviews for this one but I personally found a lot of flaws in it that made the book simply boring and unoriginal for me. We have Frost, our main character who has always wanted to see the world, and her robot servant, Bunt (who also carries the memory and personality of her father, Alex). There is supposed to be a sequel coming out in the near future, and I’m curious to know what Frost is going to do since she is pretty much on her own now.I had read some blurbs online that made me think this would be a more spicy read, but for those who are looking for something with more heat, this book is not the right fit. Alone since her mother's death, she has one constant her fiancé when he betrays her Ava is heartbroken swearing off love and it’s this decision that paves her way forward. I immediately downloaded book 2 and I'm speeding through this review so I can go start the next book 😅 Loved reading this with you all! Not much spice other than a few passionate kisses and heated touches, but it's obvious that will be cranked up in future books. I’ve been reading this book during my holiday and I was just waiting for some time off to get back to it.

This wasn’t a graphic one and this is definitely a slow burner but despite that Ava and Torin had so much raw chemistry and I’m looking forward to the second book in this duet. He was a robot, but he had ~feelings~ and he cared so much about the well-being of Frost, and that’s what made him such a great side-kick.I liked the writing, and some of the steamy scenes were quite nice, but aside from this Frost was a bit of a letdown.
