This book, or I should say this author, made me really upset. The Last Letter is one of these books where the writer puts their characters through every horrible thing they can think of to make the story very dramatic. And when you think that after everything the characters endured they will get a happy ending, they don't! I feel so cheated! with a World War II pilot, and the ending isn’t a happy one. Georgia knows all too well that love never works out, and while the chemistry and connection between her and Noah is undeniable, she’s as determined as ever to learn from her great-grandmother’s mistakes—even if it means destroying Noah’s career. Review As someone who writes primarily romantic comedy I enjoy a good angsty read that makes me tear up. That being said, I cried through a good 50% of this book, which as you might have guessed, makes running and reading nearly impossible and also slightly dangerous. Also, crying in public as an adult is embarrassing. oh my god the love. the love between scarlett and jameson is one i will never forget. it took place in the past during world war II, and their love was so heart wrenching. i ached for them. i cried so much. every letter means so much to me. i will cherish those letters forever. every word they exchanged tore me in two. every dance they shared is living in my head and heart for eternity. it found it’s home within me. i felt so much for these characters. the love between them was so palpable.

I absolutely loved the vibes their relationship gave me. The phonograph, Scarlett dresses, Jameson gentleness and politeness. They gave me everything 🫶🏻 i loved the way Jameson would always say “ we will figure it out together” not “ I’ll figure it out”. I loved the way they shared everything together and were always truthful towards one another. I loved the way they saw each other as partner and soulmates not just husband and wife. If i kept talking about them i will never stop. They will always have special place in my heart. i could see them in every love song 💘 I love you Scarlett, and it’s not the kind of love that fades with distance or time. I thought (for the most part) that the characters were well-written and developed. Sure the kids seemed older than their age, but maybe circumstances forced that. And while there were times that Ella annoyed me, she felt human. But I just couldn't get over the amount of catastrophic events that happened to her. It's surprising she didn't become catatonic.
