The adjustable elbows made it easy to connect to my existing feed pipes, but they screwed in and out of the body rather than fixing with a nut as shown in the picture. The elbows have a fine thread on them to provide the adjustability and two "O" rings to seal them in the body; when I saw the "O" rings I wasn't sure they would be effective so used some sealant on them but one still leaked, so I had to take the valve off again to put some new sealant on that elbow.
