Description

If a criminal were able to access the data on a dash cam, they could use it to work out where you live, where you work, what time you usually leave the house and where you go - not to mention being able to delete something incriminating from your recordings.

Kitvision KVDASHCAM 720p HD Dash Camera - Ryman

Follow the directions on the camera display to update firmware if the unit has one. Units without displays will update automatically. Dash cams record the road ahead of (and sometimes behind) the car so that the driver has usable footage in the event of a collision. The footage can be used by police or insurance companies to determine blame in traffic collisions or cases of dangerous driving. The rule to follow is that your dash cam should not intrude into the area covered by your windscreen wipers by more than 40mm.

The main difference between all SD cards are the READ speed and storage size (32GB, 64GB, 128GB). U3 means the SD card has a minimum WRITE speed of 30MB/s as opposed to a U1 SD card which WRITES at a slower 10MB/s. READ speed isn’t too important when it comes to Dash Cams, as a Dash Cam WRITES data to the SD card when recording. Our Nextbase SD card controller and Firmware on the SD card achieves the requirements from our Dash Cam, where other SD cards cannot. Due to the continuous recording and overwriting of data, the SD card needs to be a high-endurance card, otherwise the card may develop faults after a period of time; if a lower-capability card is used, certain features on the camera will not fully function due to being unable to re-WRITE and record. Symptoms of a non-compatible or corrupted SD card can be freezing, audible alerts, missing footage, gaps in footage and non-functional screens/buttons, as well as more. Some brands are synonymous with quality. If quality is your focus, avoid budget brands that don’t specialise in good products. The more deluxe ranges offered by household brands are usually a reliable place to put your money, but results can vary from model to model. The new laws focus on smartphones, tablets and other devices more easily defined as IoT. However, our testing has shown other devices that don't fit so easily under the IoT umbrella still capture personal data, and should be scrutinised in the same way and subjected to the same laws and regulations. Loop Recording – when the Dash Cam is on it is always recording. From our experience most non-Nextbase SD cards struggle to do this as effectively as our SD cards, this has caused footage to be missing and footage to fail to record in the first place. Hardwiring involves connecting your dash cam directly to your car's on-board electricals. This means it will start up and switch off automatically with your car's ignition, and the wires will be hidden out of sight under your dashboard - plus it frees up the cigarette lighter for other electronics.

Taking the stress out of driving, you can relax knowing this amazing dash camera is always ready for the unexpected, recording in 720p HD at 30 fps with time and date stamps so you have all the information you need in case you ever need the evidence.
