One of the coolest methods of creating mods these days is through the use of 3D models. HYTE was gracious enough to send over the model for the Y60 so that we could take full advantage of what the Y60 is, and what we could do with it. Hyte is the sister company of PC building outfit, iBuyPower, and you can either bag the new chassis in its rawest, purest, empty form, or have it ready wrapped around some fine modern gaming components ready to play out of the box. The issue is that the fan is set slightly too close to the rear I/O panel. Many motherboards today have preinstalled rear I/O shields and shrouds, which respectively help ease installation and improve the board's aesthetics. All of the motherboards we had on hand for testing employed this design, and none of them could be installed into the Hyte without first removing the fan. This likely wouldn't be a problem if you used a motherboard with a detached rear I/O shield and no rear shroud, but as essentially all high-end boards nowadays have a rear I/O shroud, it's a fairly significant design flaw. The Y60 is a mid-tower PC chassis, designed to showcase your GPU in exclusively vertical orientation. We built in a PCIE 4.0 cable for that very reason.

The included PCIE 4.0 riser cable will support the newest and highest-performing cards, and its color-matched enclosure will unify your system's look and feel.

The techy terrarium of gaming PC chassis. FYI, that's a good thing.

The Y60 uses "Low-profile PCIE Cards" to improve GPU performance and aesthetics, without compromising on expandability. We found ourselves a bit challenged at deciphering what exactly could be changed or modified with the case, that wasn’t already done. HYTE thought of everything.

Another thing we love to do at LiquidHaus is mixing and matching brands. Sometimes you can get a great synergy between brand aesthetics or even functionality that you simply can’t find when you decide to go with just one brand, especially for watercooling components. It's also important to note that the case has only three full-height add-on card slots, all of which are vertical. There are seven half-height slots that run horizontally, but there's no way to change the configuration, so it's impossible to add a second full-height card in this case. Adding half-height cards is also slightly challenging, as the riser card will once again be an obstruction. The vision for the Y60 was to make a chassis that displays everything you want, and hides everything else. You’ve already blown us away with some incredible REVOLT 3 builds and mods. We can’t wait to see the amazing PCs that get built in here! More Specs Chamfered "molding" on the top and bottom of the chassis ground the case visually and allow for glass-free displays. Building a system inside the Hyte Y60 is a mixed bag, with some notable annoyances. A few notable oversights make installing the motherboard more problematic than usual. In particular, we had to remove the preinstalled 120mm fan from the rear of the case before we could install a motherboard. The very necessity of mods came during a time when PCs themselves were still relatively new within the world, yet still readily available. “Modding,” came around during a point in time when consumers were extremely limited in what they could achieve with a PC out of the box. This mod choice has a thermal benefit as well. The bottom intake fans and the side radiator fans will be less impeded with the pump and reservoir relocated.

There's room at the top of the case to add up to three 120mm fans or up to a 360mm water cooler. An internal fan mounting location beside the motherboard tray can hold two 120mm or 140mm fans or up to a 280mm water cooler. The beveled edge also serves as a bottom-front I/O, keeping your desk setup clean and functional. A Better Way to Build At LiquidHaus, we take pride in doing things differently in attainable ways, with minimal equipment required.

Beginner Micro Devic... Does 7900XT still has high idle consumption on multiple monitors? And should I wait for the Supers even when I'm leaning towards AMD cards? ( 3) The Hyte Y60 is an interesting PC case that can be the foundation of a stunning build if you play your parts right. If you're looking to show off your components, the Y60 is one of the best chassis you can buy to do just that. If aesthetics is your top priority, it's a no-brainer.

Step forward Hyte Y-60 - a case I have been waiting months to arrive in the UK. It looks great, its extremely well built using high quality materials. You mount the power supply behind the motherboard mounting tray, and this aspect of the building process is smooth sailing. A platform is in place to hold the PSU, with nothing at all to get in the way of inserting it. Conveniently placed cut-outs in the motherboard mounting tray also help with running cables directly where they need to go. The cut-outs are positioned and angled to be out of view when looking through the tempered glass, for a tidier finished build.By restructuring the case in this way, Hyte was able to create a corner-office case with nothing between the front and left panels, for a more open view of your internal components. The front panel itself is a sheet of tempered glass without any fans behind it, and the same is true of the left panel. A third glass panel (really more of a strip) occupies the corner between the two to accentuate the design and smooth out the transition. This makes the Y60 as much a display case for your gear as a conventional PC case.
