As usual, this review is based on my honest thoughts and opinions about the tablet and I will never agree to review a product if I am required to say only good things about it. Teachers and students can create and explain interactive content visually by writing, editing, and annotating directly in files and sharing their screen in real-time.

Once you’ve installed the driver and plugged in your tablet, the XP-Pen driver icon should appear in the system tray in the bottom right. I am unsure whether XP-Pen has fixed that issue by now because I haven’t been in contact with them, but I doubt they’ve fixed it since they didn’t fix it for over a year back when I did have some communication with them.I believe this issue is not exclusive to my unit as I reported it to XP-Pen and they were also unable to troubleshoot it for me. Pro review (March 15, 2019), so I think you should keep it in mind as a quirk of all XP-Pen products. The XP-Pen Artist 12 Pro comes with fairly nice colours out of the box which are just slightly brighter than they should be. On the front side of the tablet sits 8 customizable shortcut keys and a red dial wheel to improve the user’s workflow.

I even tried to restart my laptop thinking it must be a Windows issue, but to no avail—the parallax was there to stay. At first, I thought maybe my calibration was wrong, but after adjusting so many times, I just couldn’t resolve the parallax issue. Ideally, your tablet will have an extremely low IAF where the pen will output a line with the least amount of force possible. With the release of the Artist 12 Pro and Artist 13 Pro, the Artist Pro series now has all the common sizes ranging from 12-inch to 22-inch.

I think It’s a perfect display tablet for both newbies and pros with a tight budget but wants the experience of drawing directly on the screen. The red dial on the side is really the only thing that is different form other similar tablets in terms of looks. As a frustrated illustrator, it has always been my dream to have my own pen display tablet because years ago I was fascinated about the idea you could draw on a monitor as if you were drawing on paper (this was around 2003 when large, portable touchscreen devices weren’t that many yet).

Another reason is because the shortcut keys are simply not comfortable to use because of how they’re placed on the tablet. For me, that’s perfectly alright, as I travel a lot and this one is perfect to carry around, as it doesn’t weight too much and fits easily in a bag or a backpack. A pen display is actually a monitor that you can draw on, and since it's a monitor you will need to connect it to a computer to use it.

The multi-function pen holder keeps your pen and pen nibs safe and doubles as a pen stand or pen holder. It's good to see XP-Pen has addressed many of those issues I've mentioned with the previous model, namely colour accuracy, parallax offset, glitches with some drawing software, stand not included.

Included with the pen, the multi-function pen holder keeps your pen and pen nibs safe, and doubles as a pen stand or pen holder. Please Remove Other Brand’s Driver from your computer and reboot before installing the XP-PEN’s driver, or there will driver conflict problems. Wacom’s low-end Intuos tablets do not offer you the pen pressure graph, and none of the Wacom alternatives aside from XP-Pen offer it either!

Before I continue, apologies I couldn’t take actual photos of the tablet because 1) I don’t have a physical workspace (aka table), just worked on my bed and 2) I only thought of doing this review after I finished my work. With XP-Pen, the scroll wheel is quite useful, and you get 18-months of warranty and the stand, but the display is smaller. Personally, I think I would recommend the Huion Kamvas Pro 16 over the GAOMON PD1560 because it uses a laminated screen so the thickness of the glass between the pen and screen is reduced. If you have seen a review speaking about how the calibration does not work, it has been fixed already with the newer drivers. The XP-Pen Artist 12 Pro has a USB type-C port on it to connect to the combined USB/HDMI/power cable.
