In 1975 Wood began working with the Rolling Stones, which brought differences between Stewart and the others to a head, and after a troubled fall US tour (with Jesse Ed Davis on rhythm guitar), in December the band announced that they were splitting. They recorded a few tracks for another studio album, but had lost enthusiasm and their final release as a group was the late 1974 UK Top 20 hit " You Can Make Me Dance, Sing or Anything". Hoping to capitalise on the Small Faces' earlier success, record company executives wanted the band to keep their old name; however, the band objected, arguing the personnel changes resulted in a group very different from the Small Faces. There was also a Small Faces reunion in the late 1970s (without Ronnie Lane) that resulted in two albums; and in 1981 Ronnie Lane and Steve Marriott collaborated on the album The Legendary Majik Mijits.

Tensions in the band came to a head during the recording of their fourth (and final) studio album, 1973's Ooh La La. Wood joined the Rolling Stones and later became a full member with the departure of Mick Taylor, Lane formed Slim Chance and had a modest solo career that ended prematurely when he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and he also worked on an album with Who guitarist Pete Townshend, Rough Mix.On 11 June 2008, Rod Stewart announced that the surviving Faces were discussing a possible reunion, envisioning making a recording and/or performing at least one or two concerts. His sound in the years since joining the Stones has, quite naturally, got embedded with his soul-mate Keith Richards but, if you listen to his early recordings, you can hear the melody in his musical runs, whether it be on guitar, bass guitar, or pedal steel guitar. That said, there were few early-'70s bands that seemed to have as much fun with their stardom as Rod Stewart and the Faces. El Secreto Del Alfajor, a musical project with a penchant for blending folk and rock influences, presents two captivating tracks from their debut album. I suppose like many people I bought this album AFTER "A Nod's As Good As A Wink To A Blind Horse" and to be honest at the time, felt short-changed with the plain grey cardboard sleeve.As debut albums go, it’s strong, make no mistake about that, but it’s not until the band’s second album that they truly found their groove. A disillusioned Ronnie Lane left the band in 1973; [4] one reason given later for his departure was frustration over not having more opportunities to sing lead vocals. A number of partial reunions of the Faces were rumoured throughout the 2000s, with various one-off performances involving surviving members occurring.

The album sleeve was originally a stitched-together facsimile of bootleg records as well as the old style 78 RPM singles, with the record label showing. A somewhat tighter and less ramshackle version of the debut album, with a really nice cover of Maybe I'm Amazed acting as its lynchpin.Music is highly subjective to each individuals taste so trying to rate this as the best "Faces" album is just silly! Stewart would continue his successful solo career, while Ronnie Wood would formally join the Rolling Stones as a permanent member in 1976. Later that summer Wood and Stewart parted ways with Beck and joined Lane, McLagan and Jones full-time. Ethan Larsh, an artist known for his exploration of various genres and musical mediums, consistently demonstrates his ability to craft authentic and sometimes deeply personal lyrics.
