A Logitech Support Specialist posted this: "The G27 shifter does not have it's own USB connector and needs to be connected to the port on the G27 wheel for it to function". I would recommend the ricmotec short shifter mod as I found the throw a bit long as my daily driver is a integra typeR and the mod made the throw around the same as that. Also if I shift up with the paddles and then try to upshift again, say from 4th to 5th it goes right back to 2nd gear, if I am in 1st and upshift it will go to 2nd. I have the G25 shifter with broken DB9 plug ,so i need some help on how to wire the shifter to arduino without using a db9 connection .

i also uninstalled GE but it didn't help :( the game is just not recognizing the wheel as g27 anymore. exe, changing to just USB Input Device, mixing and matching drivers from various versions of Logitech Gaming Software but to no avail.

The G25 came with a shifter that had this capability but when the G27 was released, they removed it. Makes a big difference, also resolves the 7th gear annoyance because the plate is 6 gears + reverse (I don't need 7th gear to anything). I don`t think that shifter is too big as i had more space issues (if i had any) with original G27 shifter.Not sure if this helps but I realised my wiring is slightly different to the one in the original diagram? Well the only time I ever seen that was when playing pc racing games, havin set both 1-6 and up + down gears it goes from 1st to 2nd and back, thats all.
