Like Verdi di Mare, Insense Ultramarine carries a retro vibe, and surpasses the common typical aquatics found in today's day and age. Finally, the base notes emit a warm and captivating trail, composed of earthy cedarwood, exotic sandalwood, and sensuous amber.

This is a brave fragrance for a brave man, I applaud men who wear this as to me it is 'unmanly' but that is what makes it so special , it is daring and deep and any man who wears this in the same room as me will most certainly turn my head. I have to admit that having worn the original Insense a bit uncomfortably and reading comments here and elsewhere on-line about Ultramarine's femininity had made me a bit hesitant to purchase this. The heart of the fragrance features an accord of iris, magnolia, mint, rosemary and cardamom creating a more savoury accord. The iris here is non-lipsticky, the magnolia offers a novel scent, and the whole just works so well as a casual, office-friendly fragrance. There is a tinge of watermelon, but it isn't too intrusive, and the calone is heavily disguised by the florals and vetiver.C'mon they are not that far apart guys, it has the same DNA but with a cheap 90s synthetic aquatic overlay that ruins it completely. I took this back at a time where I was hell bent on only having a certain amount of colognes in my collection at a time. Moreover it is a bolt, sexy, masculine perfume, and you can wear it during the summer or during the winter! and reading comments here and elsewhere on-line about Ultramarine's femininity had made me a bit hesitant to purchase this. People did cast surprised glances, having caught a trail of this intense aroma from me-but sure realised I am not the one to be joking with.This review is actually for Insense Ultramarine Ocean Cup - Limited Edition; however as Fragrantica doesn't list it I have placed my review here (sorry). I am struggling with most of my collection, so I stuck it in the fridge, gave it a spray and it works like a charm. After the 15 minute top, the Insense Ultramarine turns into a skilful salty floral blend with complexity. For the first few days I didn't feel like putting it on because of the blue colour, and when I did put it on, the opening was so confusing.
