Description

In this charming and sensitive book, we meet Sukie and Joe: two children making friends for the first time. Making Friends book 4 , Making Friends: Together Forever, will be the final book in the series which releases in January 2024. Hi, can you share with me why you prefer “Relationship cure” (number 7) rather than “Stop Being Lonely” (number 11).

There is seemingly abusive behavior that happens between family members that goes unaddressed; there is a student in foster care who attempts to stab Danny at one point and that's sort of brushed over. Realizing the sketchbook’s power, Dany, feeling very lonely in middle school, where her elementary friends’ schedules differs from her own, draws herself a best friend, Madison, a popular transfer student from New York City. With full answers provided, this book is designed to foster academic achievement while making learning enjoyable. Danielle needs a perfect friend, but sometimes making (or creating) one is a lot easier than keeping one! Rather than best friends, the pair now believe they are twins — and that isn’t the only part of their lives that has been completely rewritten. Overall, I didn't really enjoy this one outside of the art and I highly doubt that I'll be continuing the story.

When she gets involved with the Air Transport Auxiliary, she realises it may be more than she bargained for. However, my problem with Dany is she is the hero of this book and things do end up turning out okay for her, but she never experiences the kind of growth I would have liked to see in a character who ends up being redeemed. A lot of the stuff seems common sense, but even if it is, bringing it up again and reminding us to apply it can help. The following books suit someone who’s working and is having a family life (as opposed to being in school or single).Once she understands the sketchbook’s power, she decides to draw an awesome new best friend, Madison.

Madison’s journey to self-realization and how it impacts her relationship with Dany, along with Dany’s navigation of her relationships with her “real” friends, is charming and compelling. In addition to creating her own series, she is also the illustrator for the VIP series by Jen Calonita which many tween readers may be familiar with!

Since she doesn't currently have any friends, she draws a girl and names her Madison who is cool and best friends with Danielle. This all culminates in an epic showdown, which I won’t spoil here, but, suffice it to say, if you were a fan of Sailor Moon as a kid, then you’ll probably love it. In a nutshell, my problem with this book is that the plot is messy, and that made it hard for me to get into. The quirky illustrations are full of charming details and the unlikely hero of the tale has immense appeal for children aged 3 and over. The Steinbeck novel’s Cain/Abel motif gets some play here, as Petey, “world’s evilest cat” and cloned Li’l Petey’s original, tries assiduously to tempt his angelic counterpart over to the dark side only to be met, ultimately at least, by Li’l Petey’s “Thou mayest. It focuses on how to feel connected again by knowing how to find people like you or create a community of like-minded. Ideal to share with anyone who is starting a new school or club, it will also be useful in a classroom environment to prompt discussions about how to treat others.
