The lack of top case holes might be a plus for some users as a) it makes it less prone to liquids or other dust entering the case and b) it makes it stackable.

AIYIMA A07PRO looks far more similar to the likes of Fosi Audio AMPs, than it looks similar to other AIYIMA products, such as the D03 Amplifier I reviewed in the past. If Fosi can fix the speaker load dependency issue and release a true power amp, that will be a good thing. This is indeed great as a DAC and streamer but it doesn't have tone controls so there is no preamp controls in it. The "A07MAX Mono Channel Correct Connection Method" on the Aiyima web site suggests both channels are in use but it is difficult to visualise how a simple slide switch (or toggle switch in the Fosi ZA3) can make the necessary changes in circuit configuration.

If the A07 Max uses the same PBTL method as the data sheet, the speaker connection will never be as described in the manual.

The treble is very varied, with the EQ slider at neutral it is quite rolled off, and the whole sound can be bland, but turning it to about 3 o’clock, the sound is clean, detailed and sharp, without the treble being metallic or harsh. One, the speaker binding post layout is cramped making connections with some types of cables challenging. I thought I'd have to daisy chain from amp to sub to speakers, but instead, I can use the much tidier amp to speakers + amp (aux) to sub. Some may like the vent hole pattern on the top of the V3 - obviously both have the vent holes on the bottom and on the sides but the V3 vents on the top have a nice pattern ( though I do wonder about stacking components with the V3).
