This man was unhinged for this woman, there would be moments of him just thinking odd things such as: “𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘳𝘪𝘣 𝘤𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘧𝘧 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦, 𝘴𝘰 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥. I get her connection to the dog, but I quickly became irritated with how many scenes the dog had to be in.I could have loved it, given how much I loved Alastair and his beautiful, dirty mouth and how much he revered Cora. if i'm being honest, i hated mayor wolfe in oaths and omissions so i went into this book expecting him to grow on me, but after only mere pages i liked him better than his younger brother. it would make sense if we were given more of a resigned (but still present love) than what we got from her which was nothing until the end. What I loved most about this book was the addiction with each page turn, the mini cliffhangers throughout the book to leave me wanting more, and the characters.
