Description

Points are awarded for collecting sets of the same color tile or creating specific patterns, but beware of penalties for taking tiles that cannot be used. In this game, you assume the job of a tile-laying artist, hired to embellish the walls of the Royal Palace of Evora. Have fun and play with confidence knowing your tiles will be safe in the plastic overlay of your player board which helps them stay in place. As the game progresses, things get harder as you can only place tiles on the left hand side row if you don’t already have that coloured tile on display in your wall on the right hand side.

Extra points are scored for specific patterns and completing sets; wasted supplies harm the player's score. With smaller tiles, the travel edition also include plastic overlay tray keeping your tiles safe and snug on your player board. It lives up to its purpose of being a travel version, containing 4 sturdy game boards, a small plastic game tray and an ornate bag that contains the intricately decorated plastic tiles. The factory cards are also smaller and can fit into a plastic tray to hold them in place during play. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. We reserve the right to substitute one mail service for another if it is equivalent and will result in the games being delivered faster than by Royal Mail.

Overall, Azul Mini is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a fun and challenging board game that can be played quickly and easily. I really like Azul - it's quick to teach, looks nice, and has just enough bite to it to be a challenge. With over 2 million copies sold, this classic game is now available in a smaller format, perfect for on-the-go play.

This could be just one tile on a factory or all the tiles on a factory if they happen to be all the same colour! Proving extremely popular with boardgamers everywhere, Azul has given rise to four sequels, including Azul: Queen’s Garden, which came out in 2022. I do not have azul yet, and wonder if the mini version is good, or if the normal version is a better choice. Everything is done very professionally with this company and always lets you know every step of the process.

To keep a note of your score in this mini edition you move the black sliders at the top of the board. The player boards have been placed into a plastic tray which the tiles fit into and the scoring is now counted with a plastic marker. This game is very easy to pick up and play, as you draft your coloured tiles to your personal player board. Player boards are smaller and come with studs to hold the tiles on during play as well as black plastic sliders at the top of the board to keep the score. As a tile-laying artist, you have been challenged to embellish the walls of the Royal Palace of Evora. At the end of each round, players score points based on the completed patterns and lose points for any leftover tiles. In the game, players take turns drafting tiles from a central pool and placing them onto their individual player boards.
