The top panel can be slid back easily enough, giving you access to the drive slot; a nice way of having it accessible without breaking up the clean exterior design of the chassis.

That's good news to anyone looking to build a high-end mini-ITX system, a goal that's entirely possible with the available options that are out there. Before we get started with the review, here is what Cougar has to say about the QBX: The QBX's elegant hairline-surface front panel is the face of an ultra-compact case with one of the most stylish designs a pc case has ever seen.

A different plug design at the top could also make it easier to plug in most PSUs without blocking the slim disc drive slot. But the flexibility would be nice, because you could easily fit a short ITX form-factor graphics card in, leaving room for a longer PSU. And as advised by a friend I can confirm that a non-modular, longer than specified PSU does fit in the case without any other sacrifices. However, there's a light at the end of the tunnel, and if you take your time (and possibly make some concessions), you'll end up with a mini-ITX build that's actually about as mini as you can make it, if you max out the parts. Then it made me wonder if each motherboard has their own certain exact spot or let say coordinate of the CPU socket relative to the motherboard area and dimension.

COUGAR QBX comes here to conquer the world with three big weapons within its compact body: Its dimensions, its expansion potential and its unrivalled cooling. It isn't much of an issue if you're using integrated graphics, as you can use the space that would normally be occupied by a discrete graphics card for cables, too. They say it's an awesome looking case, well built overall, and the plastic doesn't affect how good it looks.

This way the first SATA power connector of a PSU cable can power this drive and the rest of the connectors will continue right through the hole. Next problem is the obvious cooler height, while the official specs of the case says 105mm, and I found a single review where they said it has 145mm with side bracket/plate is taken off, but in reality my NH-C14S touches the mesh of the side panel, note that the NH-C14S max height with fan is 142mm. HDD and put it on the case floor between the front fan and GPU with some double-tapped cushionings for safety.
