To accompany the book, Matheson will demonstrate how to cook four of the dishes in his 12-episode original YouTube series, “Cookin’ Somethin’. One we tried from this one was a twist on nachos but made with fingerling potatoes instead of chips. For this follow up, it’s obvious that he’s taken more care to ensure the dishes are more achievable for a home book. Don’t skip the recipe introductions; they are full of nuggets of food lore, tips, mini-memoirs and Matheson’s trademark humour. After graduating from the University of Bristol, they worked freelance, writing for independent publications such as Little White Lies, Indie magazine and design studio Evermade.

My husband and I have long been a fan of his entertaining and educational YouTube videos, so I was excited to check this cookbook out. Ladle into bowls and hit the chowder with a little drizzle of good olive oil and a few cranks of pepper. While the recipes range from the simple to the complex, they’re all as full of flavor as Matheson is full of personality. Despite the title and nice images, these are not recipes that will be rotated into my routine home cooking. Even some that I might not make have useful cooking technique recommendations and flavour combinations that one may not necessarily consider.

I love his show - and this cookbook not only has amazing looking recipes but there were times I found my self reading parts out loud to my husband after he asked me why I was laughing. I do think I needed to tenderize the meat a little bit more, but for my first attempt it worked out well. of them aren't Keto) but the photos were gorgeous and you can tell there's a lot of love poured into each page!

You not only get a ton of wonderful recipes you also get to know the cook Matty Matheson, and as a bonus a lot of wonderful photographs.Contrary to what happened in the previous book, all the recipes in this book can be made by cooks of all skill levels. This is one cookbook you will be doing more then looking through the index to find out whats for dinner. So many of these recipes are just way over the top as far as ingredients and equipment required goes.
