Passive noise cancelling is pretty good which is going to be handy if you intend to use these with a phone. Violin doesn’t sound attenuated and has plenty of sharpness when it needs to sound sharp and smoothness when it needs to be smooth. Another main difference is the macro dynamic expression of the P05 is a bit fuller and more alive… so to speak.

I definitely have mixed feelings with regards to the mid-range response of the LARK but I guess it is still within the realms of acceptance and that it still maintains that “detail-oriented” idea revolving around the tuning here. Rated at 32 ohms and a sensitivity of around 109 db’s (give or take a couple) the KB01 worked flawlessly with my Fiio UTWS5 ( AK4332 dac chip) when out and about. The bass on the KB01 bass region has a bit more sub-bass growl and rumble but it is very close between the two. I’ll make another quick note; the mid-bass doesn’t really bleed over into the midrange all that much.

The Cadenza has a deeper sub-bass and a bit more slam in the mid-bass while coming across just as clean as the KB01 (to me anyways). It is a set well suited to sitting back and chilling and enjoying the music for what it is, not the gear. The treble simply isn’t an ultra-brilliant top-end that will add lustery vibrance to the whole of the mix. The P05 leans warm/neutral, it’s very clean and very resolute and replays my music close to accurate.

The treble is mildly bright, but leans further toward natural-sounding for an extremely comfortable listening experience, rather than an extremely analytical one. Meanwhile, on female vocals especially on contralto like Andrea Corr, Tracy Chapman and Annie Lennox has this rich, warmer and heavy on their voice quality, Mezzo-sopranos are rather a bit transparent that it has a lack of consistency and too smooth in my liking as I want a more musky and darker one. Under the earphones you’ll see the cable (tied up) and you’ll also see the eartips in three separate baggies.Previously, KBEAR managed to deliver a superb value proposition with the KS2 that puts a smile upon the budget audiophiles. Something I liked about the LARK is that it does have a good mix of soundstage, layering, separation, and detail retrieval which is a pretty good spec sheet to look at, but it does suffer from some quirks in tonality. The cable provides flexible coverings over your ears which help to shape them and hold them in place. Next is the bass drum kick which has thunderous and full sound that really reverberates our ears, then a guttural, eerie and dense quality of bass baritones.
