Kong takes Ann up to his mountain lair, where a giant snake emerges from a bubbling swamp and tries to strangle Kong, who kills it as well. Despite his ongoing declarations that women have no place on board ships, the ship's first mate Jack Driscoll is obviously becoming attracted to Ann.

King Kong, coloso animal que habita en una isla lejana, es el protagonista de esta historia de aventuras, batallas entre las m s asombrosas criaturas, rescates arriesgados, momentos emocionantes y rom nticos.

Unfortunately, I did find the book’s storyline quite slow and unexpectedly struggled to maintain interest in finishing the book myself. But his collaborator and subsequently co-director and producer of the film, not only did so but it is more than likely a relation of his, Richard Merrion Cooper who wrote the text of this book to accompany Anthony Browne's superb illustrations.

Influenced by surrealists he found his originality in creating a dreamlike world populated by gorillas – strong, massive, often deformed characters that are capable of the most unexpected, kindest feelings. The text is beautifully worded and is matched by Browne’s equally impressive (as always) illustrations. Denham then describes something monstrous connected to the island, a legendary entity known to the islanders as "Kong". In reality, he is gentle and caring and suffers from fear, anxiety, pain and loss (and many other emotions), just like we do. He hides a number of interesting and thought provoking things in his illustrations which almost makes it feel like you’re reading the pictures as well the text. This is the first time 'Kong' had ever appeared as a book and a book Anthony Browne was destined to illustate. Under the impression that the flashbulbs are attacking Ann, Kong breaks free of his bonds and escapes from the theater. A god on his island, the enormous gorilla will interact with humans and fall for the beautiful girl, actress Ann Darrow, a blonde sensation looking like Marilyn Monroe.

The violent fight between the two titans ends when Kong pries open the dinosaur's jaw until it breaks. Taken from the only land he ever knew and stuck into manacles in loud, brassy New York City, he becomes the hero. I think it portrays a few sad and timeless truths: that humans break the spirits of strong and powerful creatures; greed is dangerous; we resort to killing as a way to solve problems. The ape gently sets Ann down on the building's observation deck and climbs atop the dirigible mooring mast, trying to fend off the attackers. Es comprensible la historia, ya que como una persona me dijo por ahí, no podemos juzgar el pasado con los ojos del presente. Although Denham, Englehorn, Jack and Ann are hiding behind foliage, the native chief spots them and approaches the troop. Biography: Anthony Browne is the acclaimed author and illustrator of such prize-winning bestsellers as Gorilla (winner of the Kate Greenaway Medal and the Kurt Maschler Award), Willy the Wizard, My Dad, Voices in the Park (winner of Kurt Maschler Award) and Zoo (winner of the Kate Greenaway Medal).

Denham hurls a gas bomb, knocking Kong out, whereupon he exults in the opportunity to take the giant back to New York: "He's always been King of his world. The illustrations are equally large, expressive, and dark - which further add to the grimy atmosphere depicted in the opening images.
