Stone and her team uncover a long buried mystery and their links to current events, there is more than enough originality to establish a very worthy place among the big hitters of the police procedural genre for Angela Marsons. While it kept my attention throughout, I had to read this in pieces as I wanted to pace myself on the graphic details and content matter. Every time I think I have one of this author's books sussed she just pulls the rug out from under my feet, again!

I was totally invested in the life and story of main character Lottie and couldn’t rest until I knew her story. I also like that there is a balance between the crime investigation process and the character portrayal. This book just blew me away… I LOVED and ADORED this book and I am chomping at the bit to get onto the next already! You also have Dawson, a bit of a tart by all accounts, easily distracted but ultimately good at what he does when focused, and Stacey with the thick Black Country accent which I couldn’t help but smirk at.Her inspiration is derived from the memory of the death of her twin at the age of six and the feeling of failure as she watched his life extinguished. As the story progressed, my interest did not flag for one moment, and the last 15% of the book was crazy good! One of the many reasons as to why Silent Scream is a winner for me is all down to Angela's kick-ass heroine D.

I love how it all came together so well, and loved even more how logical, and disturbingly clever the ending was. After many, many submissions she signed an eight book deal with Bookouture as their first crime author. But there is a particular scene in this book that is so touching, such an outstanding piece of written fiction that contains so much human emotion and dignity that I had a little tear in my eye.I was totally invested in the life and story of main character Lottie There is no-one I’d rather spend my bank holiday with than the fabulous KL Slater. That these crimes reignite her own history makes this a personal journey for Kim Stone and her sensitivity with all those who have suffered is utterly sincere. The secondary characters on the force are still shoved a little too far into the background to get a true reading of them, but I’m sure their personalities will flesh out as we go along.
