His delightful personality shines throughout his book and the 4 stars award is simply because I did get a little bogged down in the parts where he is discussing in general the ins and outs of show business.

The love he has for his work and family shines out from the pages and what an incredible success he has made by working hard. David Jason's gift for writing is rare among college graduates, and the fact that he never attended even drama school makes this book that much more exceptional.

On 16 September 2008, Jason announced that he would step down from his role as Jack Frost after 16 years. This included voices for Danger Mouse, The BFG, Count Duckula, Hugo from Victor and Hugo, and Toad from The Wind in the Willows, all produced by Cosgrove Hall for Thames Television/ITV. Born the son of a Billingsgate market porter at the height of the Second World War, David Jason spent his early life dodging bombs and bullies, both with impish good timing. He appeared in the Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) episode " That's How Murder Snowballs" (1969) as Abel, a framed performer in a major London theatre. David Jason was already a star when I first heard of him, but which character was most like the man himself.

David Jason will not be known outside of England but has been a mainstay on out TV screens here since the mid-1970s. As entertaining and amusing as David Jason himself, this takes the reader through everything he has from his early years avoiding bombs in London to his time as an electrician and his breakthrough moments as a comedian and actor. I thought the tone of the book showed David Jason as surprisingly honest and self-deprecating, especially in his assessment of his reluctance to commit in relationships and in the references to his physical stature. Winner of the National Book Awards Autobiography of the Year The long-awaited autobiography of one of Britain's best-loved actors Born the son of a Billingsgate market porter at the height of the Second World War, David Jason spent his early life dodging bombs and bullies, both with impish good timing. Jason lived at Lodge Lane, North Finchley, and attended Northfield Secondary Modern school after failing the 11-plus in 1951.Jason had a happy childhood and adolescence and appears to be an unassuming man who doesn't particularly care for the limelight his profession brings.

MY LIFE deals with Jason's early life and his career up until his successes in Only Fools and Horses and A Touch of Frost.I struggled a little with his writing style, but warmed to it after the first few chapters and enjoyed the book a lot. Jason has won four British Academy Television Awards (BAFTAs), (1988, 1991, 1997, 2003), four British Comedy Awards (1990, 1992, 1997, 2001) and seven National Television Awards (1996 twice, 1997, 2001 twice, 2002 and 2011). He is assisted by his brother Rodney (played by Nicholas Lyndhurst) and Grandad (played by Lennard Pearce) and, in later episodes, Uncle Albert (played by Buster Merryfield). For the first time, Andrew Ridgeley - one half of one of the most famous bands in the world - tells the inside story of Wham!Maybe I'm just a little biased, being such a huge fan of Only Fools, but I think that might not even be the case. In 1989, Jason starred as Ted Simcock in the ITV drama series A Bit of a Do, aired from January to December.
