Scott also did the voice of Gertie Growler (his only female role), the mother of Marigold, Tom's girlfriend (voiced by June Foray). In one of the early episodes he recovers the state of Rhode Island, which had been stolen by a super-criminal. The only two things not to like on the DVD set: There are no subtitles (I am not hard of hearing but I love watching television with subtitles on), and as you start each episode, the "George of Jungle" theme plays twice in a row.

It ran for 17 episodes on Saturday mornings from September 9 to December 30, 1967, on the American TV network ABC. he didn't need to drink his Super Chicken tonic to change, Fred didn't know his secret identity, and the show's catch-phrase "You knew the job was dangerous when you took it" isn't uttered.

This live-action movie follows George, a boy who was raised in the jungle after a plane crash by a talking gorilla and other animals. That's what George is, a powerful brute of a man whose very limited intelligence is the source of the show's comedy. The range is a bit narrow and the show sounds sparse when compared to today's shows, but the audio reproduces the dialog and sound effects sufficiently. The box says 17 episodes, but that's misleading, because you really get the full half hour shows with supporting segments Tom Slick and Super Chicken. The prints used for the transfer were in good condition though there were a few dirt specks here and there.
