Hans Zimmer has scored more than 500 projects across all mediums, which, combined, have grossed more than 28 billion dollars at the worldwide box office. Together with his 20-piece band “The Disruptive Collective,” featuring a gallery of long-time musical companions, the Odessa Opera Orchestra and Choir, Hans Zimmer has created an epic musical spectacle melding atmospheric classical arrangements and electronic elements into the powerful sound of a rock band.

In 2019, Zimmer scored the live-action remake of The Lion King, for which he received a Grammy® nomination for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media. That team of collaborators includes two bassists: upright master Andy Pask and six-string guru Juan Garcia-Herreros, aka Snow Owl. One of the reasons for this is that Zimmer was quite busy touring the world with his show Hans Zimmer Live. This is great as a permanent record of live music performances - but weirdly isn't as well-mixed audio as the live performances themselves. The album makes listening to the actual music more accessible and personal, and it also makes me appreciate the craft of Zimmer’s band even more. From my point of view, the main value of "Live" is that it feels a little more articulate than its predecessor: I'd say the music here contained has taken advantage of the experience gained by Zimmer and his collaborators after several years of touring- you can tell it's less a carbon copy of its studio counterpart, and its arrangements are more colourful.
