Measuring Grout and Water Latex additives give the grout flexibility and stronger adhesion. They’re a common additive in kitchens and bathrooms because they stand up to temperature changes and improve durability. Latex additives are also known to cure harder, which further protects against moisture penetration. Before you start mixing the grout, it’s important to properly prepare your mixing area. This will help ensure a clean and efficient process. 1. Gather the Necessary Materials Less mess: Hand mixing grout allows for better control and prevents splashing, reducing the amount of mess and cleanup required. This is particularly beneficial when working in tight spaces or when dealing with delicate surfaces that can be easily damaged. Depending on the desired stability and flow properties, the mixing ratio can be adjusted. Do not use a solid tilt mixer.

If you don’t have any of the traditional mixing tools mentioned above, a handheld whisk or spoon can also be used to mix grout. While it may require more effort and time to achieve a consistent mixture, it is still possible to mix grout effectively using these basic kitchen utensils.
