After 1 year of weekly use I can say that the quality of this palette overall falls somewhere in the middle. I don't think it's amazing, but it's mostly easy to work with and lasts well throughout the day. The mattes are quite chalky to the touch but perform nicely on the eye and are easily buildable and blendable. The shimmers are mostly chonky and have fall out through the day.

Topaz

Huda Kattan is an Iraqi-American make-up artist, who studied make-up in LA and then began working with celebrities. She founded her own cosmetics range, Huda Beauty, in 2013, which was originally available in Sephora stores in the US before becoming available in the UK.

As you can see above, this palette features many rich, sultry shades. There are five mattes and four shimmers, all of which are very warm. I think the colors are very beautiful, but when I think of topaz, I think of yellow. Although there is a yellow in this palette, the overall color story leans more orange and brown. So, I guess this palette is more like poppy topaz versus a true yellow topaz. But it really boils down to Huda Beauty’s formulas: the pigmentation and true-to-pan finish is the ultimate clincher. If you prefer to start your eye with a base colour, you’ll be pleased by the inclusion of the “so shy” cream colour (best for light to medium skin tones). You have four shimmer shades and 5 matte shades, which is a good mix and it does look pretty. However… you do have a lot of shades in there that are very similar tones and when you blend them out on the eyes they all sort of mix into the same colour. Which if you like an orange toned, bronzy look, then hey ho, nothing to complain about. But it’s really not as versatile as (say) their Warm Brown Obsessions Palette. And I feel like this is the general theme with their Precious Stone Series.
