The Key Person carries out regular observations in different areas of development, after a given time these are assessed and planning put into place for the child’s next steps in their learning journey. This gives us the perfect opportunity to be able to diagnose any concerns at an early stage with the child’s development. If any concerns are highlighted a meeting will be organised between the Senior Senco, Key Worker and parents to discuss further help available to ensure that the child is fully supported and able to reach individual goals. These could include help from Speech Therapists, Educational Psychologists and Physiotherapists. We also have termly visits from Redbridge SEND Co-Ordinator, who offers support, help and advice. Our team is a highly motivated and dedicated professional team with some staff having over 30+ years experience working with children. We pride ourselves on our continuity of care and always seek ways to go above and beyond in your child’s journey with us. We are regularly out and about visiting places such as - Toddler groups, Farms, Nature walks, Parks, Colchester Zoo, Maldon, soft play centre, garden centres, Beaches in the summer, Shops, Museums, children’s festivals, fun day and the Library to name a few. I am also part of a close knit group of childminders who regularly meet to allow the children to play and socialise and make friends in larger groups of children. My child loves going to Munchkinz! We base our planning and activities around the EYFS to ensure all that areas are covered.These are as follows: Providers on the Early Years Register will normally be inspected at least once within a 6-year window. Each child’s key person is responsible in carrying out initial observations on children. Firstly to determine the level the child is when they come to the setting and secondly, ongoing observations to help us to develop the child whilst they are in our care. These are shared regularly with parents, not only to keep parents updated on their child’s learning journey but also to help parents assist their children with home learning.

I have a very large, child friendly enclosed rear garden for use all year round. I also have a dedicated play room with en suite toilet and washing facilities. I provide a vast array of toys and equipment for children of all ages and stages and bring the children's interests into our everyday play to encourage learning and development.

Children are welcomed by staff who are warm and friendly. All staff are fully vetted/trained/qualified to ensure the care offered is of a high standard, which gives parents peace of mind that their loved ones are happy and well looked after. Our aim is to work with parents to ensure that care is consistent and involve parents to be a part in their child’s learning journey. Everyone at Munchkinz really look after the kids well and engage them in different activities. They maintain good communication with the parents and are very helpful. The support from the manager and staff during the settling period was fantastic and I felt so reassured as a parent. I am also satisfied with the education provided to the kids. We are open Term Time only (average 38 weeks per year). Term dates can be found in the Information For Parents section. Staff are able to discuss any concerns at any time with either the Senior SenCo or Nursery SenCo who then offer help/advice on any issues raised. Accessibility of the school Once we establish areas that any child needs guidance or help with, we incorporate their individual learning goals into our planned activities. In this way, we can help each child develop through play in a relaxed environment where they do not feel pressurized. Children become better learners as they are keen to take part in all the nursery’s activities.
