Description

The title for Schotten Totten has a bit of a story to it. The word Schotten means “Scots” or Scottish people in German. Totten apparently comes from another phrase in German using the word Hottentotten, a derogatory term for a certain tribe in Africa. It basically means that the customs of these people, misunderstood by Europeans, delivers bedlam or chaos. Despite the awkward usage, as a game title, it fits.

Tactic cards represent the allies of your clan that lend you a hand and reinforce your strategy while claiming a Stone. Ha valaki egyszerűsíteni akarja, akkor kihagyhatóak a taktikai lapok, és úgy is működik, de én nem játszanám nélkülük. Where it might get unwelcome looks is from opponents who have played it repeatedly. One or two games a session is enough to keep it interesting, but any more frequent, and it begins to feel old. Final Thoughts: Nagyon sokkal gazdagítják a játékot. The name is a portmanteau of the German words "Schotten" ( Scottish people) and "Hottentotten" ( Hottentots).

Schotten Totten 2 is the latest in the line of small box games from IELLO, which has produced some brilliant little games such as Welcome to the Dungeon, Tempura and of course, Schotten Totten. The original Schotten Totten is a re-skin of board game legend Reiner Knizia’s two-player card game Battle Lines, which has also had a medieval re-skin. But with all these different versions, re-skins and sequels, which one should you get? Line ‘em up! Schotten Totten is a brilliant two-player small box game. It’s a perfect example of what can be done with very little to create something very good! Schotten Totten 2 builds upon this and offers a more strategic experience.Nekem az egyik kedvenc kétfős játékom. Kicsi, praktikus, gyors és még a grafikája is szerethető.Nem túl bonyolult de mégis elég taktikus döntéseket tudsz hozni a játékban. In 2000, Schotten-Totten was rethemed and sold under the name Battle Line (published by GMT Games) with similar gameplay, slightly altered rules (such as a player's hand size, and cards ranking from 1 to 10 in each of the six suits instead of from 1 to 9), artwork consisting of drawings of ancient soldiers, and Tactics cards which "introduce that random element that makes war continually surprising". [1] Some have wildcard-like effects in a sequence, like a fixed number that you can choose to represent any colour. Others are played on stones and mess about with the scoring, such as changing the sequence to four cards rather than three. The final kind are discarded in exchange for a one-shot effect like letting you move one of your other cards between sequences. With tactics cards added, the Schotten Totten becomes a steaming stew of strategic ruses and brilliant bluffing. Schotten Totten review: Verdict

Ui.: Akinek tetszik a Schotten Totten, feltétlenül próbálja ki a Hanamikoji-t is. Ott az akciólapkák mechanikailag, és értékrendileg is különlegesek... To claim a Stone, you must have a stronger combination of cards than those played by your opponent. These combinations, from the strongest to the weakest, are described as follows. Color-run Nagy csetepaté készül két szomszédos skót klán között. A folyamatos esőzések miatt meglazult a talaj a határokat jelölő sziklák környékén, és már egy kisebb lökéssel is méterekkel lehetne növelni a falu határait… a másik klán kárára! All of this makes for a very good game that feels different to the original, but still has the highly satisfying poker-style card laying that made Schotten Totten so good.Publishers: ASS Altenburger Spielkarten, Bureau De Juegos, Cube Factory of Ideas, Edge Entertainment, IELLO, Pro Ludo, PS-Games, Reflexshop, REXhry, Schmidt Spiele, Ubik, uplay.it edizioni Added to this is a set of tactic cards which experienced players can use to add more decisions and variety to the game. It is a cheap, fast, fun and satisfying game of playing the odds and making some logical leaps of deduction. It’s small portable size means it’s the perfect game for all collections. If you want to play over several rounds, the winner gains 5 victory points and his opponent gains as many victory points as Stones he controls. The player with the most victory points at the end of the game wins. Flamme Rouge sees players battle for cycling glory in a gruelling road race. Photograph: Owen Duffy/The Guardian
