Description

Sue Watson does a great job of creating suspense from the very beginning; using a prologue to immediately create a sense of intrigue. The pace throughout the book keeps you wondering what will come next and there are certainly enough twists to keep you guessing, while also remaining believable.

Who is doing this to her? Her ex? An online stalker? Or someone with more sinister intentions? And then Sofia disappears and Emily knows the secrets of the past will soon collide with the present. The Nursery is one of those twisty thrillers that you really don’t know which way the story is going. You meet Emma, mum to three year old Sofia who had to leave her ex-husband. The pair fled to Sidmouth to leave their old life behind. But what are they hiding? Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and Sue Watson for letting me read “The Nursery” in exchange for an honest review.Make sure you read to the very end of the book to read the prologue and first two chapters of Sue's 'The Sister-In-Law'. I haven't read this yet but after reading these chapters I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy!!

Really hooked me… Impossible to quit reading… It got hold of me and would not let me go.’ Tove Reads This novel consists of a prologue and 38 chapters. The chapters are short to medium in length so easy to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!

They were both fortunate to rent a flat from an older couple (the woods) who took them in as family and gave Emily a part-time job in their perfume shop, while Sophia was at nursery school. I feel like the best part of the story was probably a twist at the end I read about . However, I came to a rolling stop at about 80% and decided I couldn't continue . It was to late for me, Fabulous! It was so gripping, edge-of-your-seat thrills and plenty of pace throughout… Really gripping… Wonderful… You just couldn’t put it down.’ Fiction Café ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ But when Emily catches Sofia messaging a stranger online, and as she reads the last message received, her heart pounds in her chest.

I would like to thank #SueWatson, #NetGalley and #Bookouture for an ARC of #TheNursery in exchange for an honest review.

Advance Praise

I am excited to be taking part in the #BooksOnTour #BlogTour for Sue Watson's tense domestic thriller THE NURSERY. Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own. A really great psychological read that will have you thinking about it long after you have finished reading it This book is fantastically written with vivid descriptions that absolutely grip the readers attention and puts them right in the middle of it all making your heart pound and you constantly second guessing.

Emily runs away with her daughter to put her past behind; hoping to erase the past and naively simply start again. But 12 years on, it's clear that she hasn't really escaped, 'The past can't be erased, because it lives inside you, and however hard you try, you will never escape.' And this time, it seems like it's not only Emily who's the target but also her daughter, Sophia, 'Your mother isn't who you think she is.' As you read the book, you learn to trust no one. I’m not even a parent but I had major anxiety reading this because it’s literally a parents worst nightmare. So, I can’t even imagine the feelings an actual parent will feel when they read this. The last chapters were interesting, but I didn’t quite buy it. It was too elaborate and I couldn’t see it happening in real life. The last twist was good though, but there was simply to many secrets and different motives. Then Emily senses someone is watching them at their flat…and then in their flat. There was a break-in and a crescent-shaped plastic piece and a strange note was left at the scene. An exciting, dark, mysterious and enthralling psychological family drama……my advice would be to trust no one in this book…..best of all it kept my on my toes and ‘wondering’ right up until the last chapterWhile Emily struggles to unravel who it might be that is trying to reveal her secret, Sofia begins to engage in risky behavior. This plays into the many twists and turns that this story takes on. This book brings new meaning to intense domestic thrillers. Going into the story, we know things are not right in Emily’s small family. As things fall apart I was fully drawn in as I kept wondering how things could possibly come together again. Sue Watson has written another winner as I dare any reader to put this book down after starting it.
