Live Performing

I agree with those who say it's not something you'd take into a professional studio, but I disagree with anyone who says they won't take it on stage. If it's good enough for Marcus Miller on stage, it's good enough for you and me. :) The Free Bman is actually @JohnDaBass's contribution rather than mine (credit where it's due and all that! ) It's gig-worthy. With an auto-save function, you can be sure that all your favourite presets will be saved when you turn the pedal off. You can save up to 50 of your own patches – you'll never run out of inspiration. The built-in chromatic tuner also lets you tune up in seconds, so you can keep your basslines sounding stellar. Use the preselect function to choose your patches silently with another patch running. This will help you stay permanently prepared on stage. If you're looking for a bass pedal which will revolutionise your live setup, this will do you justice. Specifications Please note that unfortunately the patches are model specific e.g. a B1-4 patch can't be used on a B1-4X or B3N In your case you are cutting some of the fundamental notes on the B string which are already not going to be particularly easy to hear, given the combination of our hearing range attenuation and speaker frequency response which for most cabs will also be seeing some fall off in ability deliver low end. The low B is 31 Hz so you will be cutting the fundamental on that by approx 12dB. Not sure whether this was the intention? Tbf it's what a lot of sound engineers do and most of what we hear is at the first fundamental of the B string and above, anyway, which is 60Hz and not being touched by your HPF. I guess it's for the same reason that 4 string players might set their HPFs to start cutting at 80Hz i.e. just below the first fundamental of the low E string (low E fundamental = 41Hz).

Not a bland bassline in sight. With the wealth of effects built into this pedal, you can experiment with your sound and constantly change it up. From an octaver to bass synth sounds, there's something for every occasion and song. Whether you want to make your music atmospheric or keep it punchy and heavy – you can do so with ease. Nine built-in amp models offer tones from classic, celebrated amps, allowing you to further expand your sonic arsenal Al Krow Saved both your Glam Comp settings and your Free Bman patch to my B3n. I shall be trying out the HPF in front of my patches too. Any thoughts on putting the HPF at the end of the chain to cut out an low frequencies created by the effects? USB: USB Midi, USB Micro-B (Power Can Also Be Supplied Through The USB Port When Using A Cable Designed Only For Power, Other USB Functions Cannot Be Used) Furthermore, in the case of devices such as the B1X we are looking at today, the lay out of modern multi-effect pedals I think is getting more intuitive. Yeah sure, there have been a few hiccups on the way and yes, some units that have bigger colour screens and more “data entry” dials will be even easier than smaller units; Zoom B1 does a great job of allowing the user to access either banks of patches or individual effects when editing a patch easily.

How Will You Set the Tone?

For the musician, they are forever managing to compact a huge amount of technology into affordable units that really do sound good. For me, it's a keeper. I love this thing. It's brilliant. It's not gonna lose its place between my bass and my amp ever. I love that it will take power from the USB port, because that meant that I could use one of the USB mains plugs that I had lying around. I love how the output can also be used to drive a headphone. The only thing I don't like is that, while internally, it has the capability to be used as a DAI, it won't use the USB port to output anything. I suspect that Zoom did that to not eat into their own DAI products... Getting creative is dead easy especially as Zoom have crammed in a 30 second looper whereby you can select whatever effect you want on your sound before recording a new layer over the top of the previous.

latest chip set, same as the B3N => up to 5 effects per patch (vs 4 on the MS-60B); and you can set to use a patch as a bank of 5 individual effects which is very neat For editing purposes on your PC either the free Zoom editing software or that provided by ToneLib - Zoom are both really useful. There’s a huge amount of power in a box designed to be compact here - and at a price that is practically mind-boggling. For that reason, I find it difficult to whinge about anything on it. Yes, the small screen could be difficult to read in bright sunlight should you need to edit an effects chain, but that’s not a deal breaker for what this device is trying to achieve elsewhere. The only problem I personally had was getting the application to communicate with the device on my laptop. That could, of course, be a problem with my laptop though so we shall ignore that for this review.BlueB BOD [AK-Dri].zb1f BManDrive [AK-Dri].zb1f BOF [AK-Dri].zb1f DG B7K [AK-Dri].zb1f Atreides [AK-Dri].zb1f Xotic BB [AK-Dri].zb1f Use either of 2 performance modes to seamlessly switch up patches and effects during live shows. PRESELECT mode lets you jump from patch to patch without affecting your current sound, while STOMP mode lets you turn individual effects on and off. Key Features You may, of course, want to use two HPFs in the chain to have an effective twin HPF set-up in the way @jrixn1 described above - but that would be a general approach rather than specifically to deal with low frequencies created by effects.

Interestingly for me, when the device is plugged into a computer with the correct specification USB port, it will power the B1 too! Then there are a LOT of great individual effects available which are common across both multi fx pedals. You'll likely agree with me that a huge amount of the benefit / fun is going to come from creating our own bespoke patches to improve on some of the pre-loaded ones.

Classic Amps

You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail. Thought it would be good to have a thread for any of us who fancy sharing the details of any patches you've made and finding useful (ideally with a close up pic of the effects settings) OR if you want some help / ideas for pulling a particular sound / effects patch together - please shout! But that's not all, with a massive nine onboard amp models to chose from, you'll have instantly recognisable classic sound within a press of a button, and tweak it to your preference via the advanced controls. Get dynamic results without having to invest in piles of gear, as the B1X FOUR provides a vast selection of effects within its sleek and stylish design, which's guaranteed to assist you in finding the sound with absolute ease. From thunderous octaves to punchy, heavy bite, this nifty multi-effects has everything you desire out of a practical pedal!
