Description

As some may already know, and others will surely find out, drinking full proof bourbon whiskey is no experience for the faint of heart. Also known as “ cask strength whiskey,” full proof bourbon has an extremely high alcohol content percentage, which has its own pros and cons. fresh mint. Subtle caramel apple tones are delicately balanced with the lingering essence of coffee

The Sazerac Company has not formally released the official mash bill of 1792 Bourbon Full Proof. However, many bourbon whiskey experts have surmised the ingredients by percentage to be around 74% corn, 18% rye, and 8% barley. 1792 Full Proof is aged in American white oak barrels for anywhere from 7 to 8 years and completes its aging process with a 125 proof point rating. The high proof rating places this bourbon in the upper echelons of high proof bourbons with an ABV of 55%-65%. ConclusionThe grains are coarsely ground and added to water. The mixture is then heated, to break down the structure of the grains, which produces fermentable sugars. The Paper Plane is a surprisingly exotic flavor combination: you’ll get the bittersweet flavors from Amaro, contrasted with the zesty tang from the Aperol. For those who may not know about the significance of a full proof bourbon, allow us to share some insights. Unlike most Bourbon whiskey, a “full proof” bourbon begins its barrel-aging life with a 125 proof point rating, significantly higher than most bourbons. But it can be difficult to know which brand and bottle are for you. How do you decide between the most popular Bourbons or, ultimately, find the best Bourbon of the year? The huge variety of brands, distilleries, proofs, and ages has made the world of whiskey a fascinating one, albeit slightly challenging if you’re not sure where to start. Full Proof bourbon is a limited edition expression from Barton 1792 that was originally released in May 2016 as an attempt to create a high-rye bourbon with a more rich, robust flavor profile. The mash bill has not been disclosed, but numerous sources indicate that this bourbon is made from a mash of at least 15% rye. There is no age statement on this bottle, but the company’s original release stated that this juice spent 8 1/2 years in the barrel before undergoing a special filtration process, foregoing the traditional chill-filtration and instead simply passing it through a plate and frame filter. This bourbon was then proofed down to its original barrel entry 125 proof (this is not a barrel proof bourbon) and bottled in the traditional 1792 fashion. (Tasted neat from a Glencairn Glass) Color

And let’s not forget the oak casks: the oak used is first stripped and left to weather for six months. This process removes the bitter tannins, allowing for a smoother flavor once the mixture has been added. This “Full Proof” bourbon is bottled at barrel entry proof of 125 (62.5% ABV), but it’s worth remembering that this means it has been proofed down to a standard strength through the addition of water, as evaporation will typically cause bourbon barrels to rise in strength over time. With all that in mind, let’s taste someone’s idea of the World Whisky of the Year! 1792 Full Proof – Review To help us rank the best Bourbons in the world, we looked at a number of different factors, including the proof, age, and price. The cork is topped with a simple, gold knob. The bottle overall feels hearty, strong, and layered with tradition. For a bourbon that has existed for less than twenty years, the design looks as though it’s been closer to one hundred years. The Art Deco elements make me think of the Empire State Building. Surely this is a whiskey that was meant to be sipped up there! Bourbon was formerly known as Ridgewood Reserve 1792 and 1792 Ridgemont Reserve. Despite being a multi-award-winning bourbon, its various change in names could be why it’s not that popular today. The brand won the gold medal at the World Whiskies Awards in 2020 and double-gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2021.A very light amount of ethanol blends nicely with rich caramel, heavy vanilla, and plenty of rye spice, all of which is underscored by a soft oak note. The nose is relatively light and simple but it is nicely balanced and pleasant overall. Palate
