Description

Remember that even if you attach a 160W solar panel, the maximum electricity it can generate when connected to RIVER 2 remains 110W. It’s crucial to understand that solar panels (from any manufacturer) rarely reach their total rated power output due to environmental conditions like temperature and other factors. RIVER 2’s maximum solar input is 110W. You can use any solar panel with a rated power of 110W (or slightly above) to charge the RIVER 2 — instantly turning it into a solar generator! If the ambient temperature increases beyond this range during storage, the battery discharge rate will also increase. Is RIVER 2 a True Sine Wave Output Device? RIVER 2 has an operating AC output of 300W (running watts) and a surge power AC output of 600W (starting watts) using X-Boost.

Does it always follow that ‘Big Is Better’? Well, in the world of lithium power stations, the answer is not as straightforward as you might think. The price of a power station rises almost directly proportionally with the amount of battery storage capacity on board, and as a result, it is very difficult to get a bargain price wise. If you want a high power capability and lots of storage, you’re going to have to pay for it…. Colour LCD display – using the exact screen of the Delta 2, this is probably the best display on the market in terms of useful information. The display shows a) time left to fully charge/discharge b) existing battery % remaining c) power coming in and d) power going out. Yes, it’s a true sine wave output device rather than a simulated sine wave output device. A true sine wave system produces much “cleaner” electricity output for any connected equipment. In contrast, a simulated sine wave device has a much choppier and less stable output.

Lightweight at only 7.8 kg

If any of your devices have a higher starting wattage, you’ll also need to factor that in. RIVER 2 provides up to 600W starting watts (surge power) using X-Boost mode. Can You Run RIVER 2 and Charge It at the Same Time?

Since 60W is the maximum USB-C input, and the actual charge may be lower, you can round up to account for the potential extra time to charge fully. For example, you can connect it to an EcoFlow 220W Bifacial Portable Solar Panel since the solar Input of RIVER 2 is 8A Max,11-30V 110W, and the Open Circuit Voltage of EcoFlow 220W Bifacial Portable Solar Panel is 21.8V, which falls within that range. However, any extra electricity produced over 110W gives you no additional benefit.

What's in the box

The device works great for its intended use which is to run my work-from-home setup during loadshedding. It can run my laptop, monitor and a network switch for just under 4 hours (about 25 - 30 watt load). Gaming is also possible with this unit but it depends on your hardware... Xbox Series S and a monitor requires around 80-90 watts during gameplay. A larger console or gaming PC will reduce this time because they use a lot more power. You can monitor various functions of the RIVER 2 Max Portable Battery Generator easily and clearly thanks to the easy-to-read digital display. Functions such as charging status, how long to fully charged, run time when in use, as well as a timer.

You must store it at temperatures between 20ºC (68ºF) to 30ºC (86ºF) and completely turn it off after it reaches full charge. Despite the smaller size of the unit, I did appreciate the Type-C charging when pairing the RIVER 2 with the Ugreen Nexode GaN 140 W wall charger. Indeed, it's a weird cycle whereby you could use the two in different charge/discharge cycles easily to power the RIVER 2, take them both along for a weekend trip, then charge your phone/laptop/any other Type-C device easily. There is enough juice from the power station, especially with the boost mode allowing the max output to go from 300 W to 360 W when needed, to be a decent camping partner. It's otherwise not going to compete favorably with larger power stations and is far more restricted as a home device. Since the RIVER 2’s capacity is 256Wh, you’d divide that by the max watts of the USB-C input/output: 256Wh / 60W = 4.3 hrs.

You can pair EcoFlow products over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth with the EcoFlow mobile app (available on iPhone & Android). It does everything straight from the palm of your hand. You can also upgrade to the latest firmware to enjoy the latest performance upgrades. The EcoFlow RIVER 2 Max will give you the freedom to enjoy power outlets everywhere in the home, or on your outdoorsy adventures. Charge Smarter with Clean and Renewable Energy
