Rather than taking the story from the show and fleshing it out, adding more details to make it feel more like a novel, the script was basically copied and pasted into a book. The author does add some small descriptions, thoughts, etc. but besides the first small chapter, there’s nothing new added. None of the things glossed over in the show were elaborated on in the book version. Everything that felt rushed on TV felt just as rushed in a book. This isn’t how I usually feel things play out. They have to condense for TV/Movies, but books tend to give you more of the details and have better pacing. There is a lot of inner monologue in this book and I like how all those thoughts make each character more than the stereotype they sometimes come across as. And although the amount of characters seems like a lot at the beginning, it didn't take long to get to know them all and to start caring about all of them.
