Network : The bandwidths supported by the device may vary depending on the region or service provider Proximity Sensor, Hall Effect Sensor, Light Sensor, Gyroscope Sensor, Accelerometer (G-Sensor), Magnetometer, Barometer, Fingerprint Sensor As you may already know, the UK models feature a different chipset than the American and Chinese models in the name of Exynos 2200 rather than Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Both series of chipsets are developed by Samsung, but there can sometimes be slight differences in performance between them. Regardless, Samsung promises up to 5% better processing performance for routine tasks whereas the graphics performance has seen a 40% bump and, impressively, the neural processing unit's performance gains are around an astounding 130%. This means the phone will certainly perform better than S21 and it will be significantly smarter in many cases like battery management. Battery Capacity: Could Have Been Better As expected, the performance is top-notch across the board thanks to the Exynos 2200 chipset and 8GB of RAM. It's no better than Apple's A15 Bionic, but it keeps things more than buttery-smooth and snappy in all tasks and apps you could think of. The graphics performance here alone makes the S22 Ultra also a fantastic gaming phone - it handles games with no hiccups. The 5,000mAh battery here offers a day of usage on a full charge with fast charging as well as wireless charging support, but nothing more than that. We wish it lasted for more than that but a full day is still okay. We also noticed that there are some heat-related issues when performing demanding tasks, so beware of that as well. S22 Ultra: Price UK

We wish Samsung didn't skimp on storage (256GB max without the option of a microSD upgrade is simply not enough) and leave out WiFi 6E (it has WiFi 6), but these are relatively minor quibbles. Samsung Galaxy S22 software Take a look at our different pricing options for the Samsung Galaxy S22 and choose a plan to suit your needs. Each year your Airtime Plan will be increased by the Retail Price Index (RPI) rate of inflation announced in February plus 3.9%. If RPI is negative, we’ll only apply the 3.9%. You’ll see this increase on your April 2024 bill onwards. See o2.co.uk/prices. If you are someone who prefers Android, has a lavish budget and prefers large displays over compact form factors, then the S22 Ultra is certainly a no-brainer among the 2022 models. Featuring an almost undeniably beautiful design, the S22 Ultra comes with a 6.8-inch AMOLED display, running at 3088 x 1440 pixel resolution and resulting in a 500 per-pixel-inch clarity. With a dynamic refresh rate that goes from 1Hz all the way up to 120Hz, it offers fantastic functionality and vivid colours with everything you may possibly do on the phone. With the peak brightness of 1750 nits and Samsung's Vision Booster technology, the display performs great even under direct sunlight and stays comfortably bright whenever you may need it. Moreover, there is an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner placed on the bottom half of it and said to be quite secure. Cameras: No More Contour Cut Either way, that’s a supremely expensive smartphone - but then again, Samsung’s S-series devices aren’t designed for people on a budget.Actual user memory will vary depending on the mobile phone operator and may change after software upgrades are performed. Display Size: Measured diagonally, Galaxy S22's screen size is 15.39cm (6.1") in the full rectangle and 14.99cm (5.9") with accounting for the rounded corners, Galaxy S22+'s screen size is 16.65cm (6.6") in the full rectangle and 16.21cm (6.4") with accounting for the rounded corners and Galaxy S22 Ultra's screen size is 17.31cm (6.8") in the full rectangle and 17.25cm (6.8") with accounting for the rounded corners; actual viewable area is less due to the rounded corners and camera hole. Calls to 05, 08 and 07 special numbers including calls and texts to Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man landline or mobiles The Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus comes with Android 12, with Samsung’s One UI laid over the top. At the S22 launch, Samsung pledged that its new phones would get at least four years of software updates, which will take you to Android 16 in 2026.

Overall, if you like Samsung and Android together, this is an affordable and familiar (we see you, Galaxy S21) way to get in at the top of the Galaxy line, making it one of the best Samsung phones and even one of the best Android phones. For those who want a 5G Samsung Galaxy but want to pay hundreds less, they should look at the Galaxy A Series, including the attractive Galaxy A53. Change your airtime tariff after 30 days and then once every billing month during your minimum contract period, choosing from a selected family of tariffs. Some tariff extras are only available on the starting tariff, are not transferable, and may be lost if you change to an ineligible tariff. Devices are subject to availability. Network: The bandwidths supported by the device may vary depending on the region or service provider. For Super Fast Charging function, we recommend using the original Samsung Power Adapter and data cable, sold separately. For best results, use 45W Power Adapter with Galaxy S22 Ultra and S22+ and 25W Power Adapter for Galaxy S22.The screen also promises to boost touch sampling (the speed at which it will recognize and respond to touch) for Game Mode. We had no responsiveness issues, but we also haven't noticed any gaming sluggishness in other flagship phones we've tested this year. When it comes to the videos, 4K-60 FPS recording is here in addition to the fantastically sharp and cinematic 8K-24 FPS mode. The auto-framing feature isn't all that well refined, but the ability to pause the recording to continue recording a bit later is a great feature. Performance and Battery Life RPI: Each year your Airtime Plan will be increased by the Retail Price Index (RPI) rate of inflation announced in February plus 3.9%. If RPI is negative, we’ll only apply the 3.9%. You’ll see this increase on your April 2024 bill onwards. Find out more at o2.co.uk/prices. Take professional-looking photos with the S22's Triple Lens rear camera. This includes 50MP Wide, 12MP Ultra Wide and 10MP Telephoto cameras that offer crystal-clear pictures. There’s also a 10MP front phone camera to give you flawless selfies. It's not clear why Samsung shrunk the Galaxy S22's battery down by 300mAh, from a capacity of 4,000mAh on the S21 to 3,700mAh here, but it doesn't appear to have much of an impact. We got roughly 12 hours of battery life with varied and almost constant use. Your mileage may vary. The Samsung Galaxy S22 charger uses a 25W Super Fast USB-C. But you’ll also be able use the Samsung S22 wireless charger for your phone courtesy of Wireless Power share technology. Certain resolutions and ratios may not be supported. Certain functions may not be available when Auto Framing is on. Only people can be recognized, and there is a limit to how many people may be recognized.

Pink Gold (Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus only)

The Samsung Galaxy S22 is the kind of phone you get if your tastes are upscale but your budget is a bit downrange. Its 6.1-inch screen can feel cramped if you’re coming from virtually any similarly-priced Android phone from OnePlus and Xiaomi. However, placed side-by size with an iPhone 14, the dimensions are similar – and the resemblance is uncanny. For our full review, we used the Exynos-powered phone, and it ran well. When we put the device through a multi-core benchmark test using Geekbench 5, it returned a score of 3,431. That’s a very high score, and one of the highest we’ve seen from a Samsung phone too, but a few 2021 devices beat it, including the Xiaomi Mi 11, Realme GT, OnePlus 9, and ZTE Axon 30 Ultra. Those devices all use the Snapdragon 888, the predecessor to the 8 Gen 1, which points towards the Exynos chip being a tiny bit weaker.
