The disconnected nature of the early stories has its downsides. There's a major character death in the last quarter of this omni - I'm being vague, but y'all know who I'm talking about - and his death honestly feels a bit unexpected. If I reread the book, I might see how it was foreshadowed throughout, but on the first go, it sure felt like it came out of nowhere and didn't hit as hard as it could have. But it's bigger than that. This is true unadulterated passion, creativity and ingenuity. So much so it has inspired me to change my own life, stop working in the trades and follow my dream as an artist. The Bridge, reality hopping, and confrontation with Norman Osborne is such a interesting and great way to begin the run, and sets up the first arc well. The council of Reeds and his it casts it's shadow over the whole first half is a sight to behold. I admit, the one glaring issue the book has is some of the Nu World material is lost on me, as I never read the original arc. That might be the one blemish on this book.
