KENZO World Power is an unconventional fragrance. It does not follow the rules and exists outside traditional olfactory families and gender lines (a man could easily wear this). It straddles the aquatic, oriental and floral genres, leaving one guessing as to what it is. Yes, it’s vanilla but airy – and yes, it’s evocative of saltwater, but it is not marine. So what is it? Well, it’s World Power, that’s what – a unique olfactory experience that is as bold and intriguing as any piece of KENZO streetwear. The 2008 formulation of the iconic Kenzo Power cologne features top notes of cardamom and bergamot floating over a strong woody base. What Does It Smell Like? Kenzo Power cologne has made a positive impression, including on one person who reviewed the product by writing, "To me...Kenzo Power is quite incredible." Is Kenzo Power Cologne Trending or Outdated?

A year later the same design team, has created a flanker called Kenzo Power Cologne and instead of the chrome bottle of the original this one is in clear glass with the same Kenya Hara lines as before. This clarity of design is carried through to the fragrance contained within as M. Polge was aiming for a 21st century take on the first colognes which appeared in the early 18th century. The heart starts with a geranium note, which is green and floral at the same time, sharing that similarity to the lavender in Aqua Admirabilis. That starts as pepper and coriander take the geranium and add a fresh feel to the middle of this. These notes add a touch to the floral character, which makes it less clean and sweet and more spicy and floral. Yet in Power Cologne, I catch that powdery and buttery aspects of the iris flower, or better the orris root, which in my opinion is the secret flower never mentioned in the pyramid notes. The base is a woody mix of cedar and tolu balsam with a touch of vetiver thrown in. It gives Power Cologne the feel of the original Power in the woodiness. Where the original went for amber to warm things up, in this fragrance vetiver keeps the woods on the clean and fresh side of the fragrance line, which is appropriate for a modern cologne. Synthetic? Probably. My impression, however, is, as I mentioned, above all: artificial. Just as an animated film does not depict or want to depict (photo) reality. For me, this fragrance goes just as well with grief as with spring or with the baby bottom mentioned below in a commentary, with the colour purple as with fresh green or a grey November.

Did you know that coriander is one of the key ingredients to the Coca-Cola formula? In Power's opening, there is both coriander and cardamom, and the linalool content of the former with the camphoraceous spiciness of the latter impart an effervescence, fizzy, a foam saturating the floral heart that is vaguely jasmine, rose, freesia, violet perhaps. With the cinnamic tolu in its base and a general resinous fixation to the floral heart, we get that "florals marinated in cola" effect, which reminds me of a more sheer and warm weather friendly Youth Dew with modern elements. KENZO is a graphic brand that has always boasted bold iconography, whether that be roaring tigers or gazing eyes. They are a house that creates contemporary streetwear that fuses the worlds of Paris and Tokyo. KENZO is unique, and unlike many luxury brands, it is relatively accessible, maintaining its level of desirability for the modern generation. Much like the brand Moschino, KENZO doesn’t take itself too seriously offering up a generously playful spirit that is hard to resist. While you can wear this fragrance at any time of year, it shines particularly well in the spring and autumn. Is It Worth It? The bottle is very successful, puristic, without frills, good sprayer. Unfortunately prone to fingerprints. And you can't see how much you've already used.

Power Cologne has outstanding longevity and sillage. It is remarkable because of most Eau de Colognes last only a short while. I am not the biggest fan of flankers when they are too similar to the original, but in this case, the perfumer has done an excellent job of marrying the qualities of a traditional eau de cologne and the unique Power. In doing so, he has created a fragrance that is recognizably made up of that fragrant genetics but can stand on its own, deservedly so. Cologne is a more gentle fragrance to the original Power and can easily be worn daily. I find this highly distinct and rather dull with its citrus opening cute green heart and lovely oriental dry down. You should give this a try if you ever come across a bottle. I was hoping you wouldn't make the same mistake I did long ago.Kenzo Power smells like an open field dotted with patches of snow that are beginning to melt under the spring sunshine. Fragrance Family: My very first impression was "Ha, that's how a freshly bathed, creamed, powdered baby smells. So clean, so fresh, so innocently clean and tender" Woody fragrances for men don't usually attempt a floral aspect, but this one does and pulls it off with unique vigor and verve. What Makes Kenzo Power Cologne So Special? I happened this morning I noticed the bottle on the shelf of my bathroom, and I wore it to go to the office. The opening of Power Cologne is rich of bergamot along with verbena and cardamom. The verbena is an excellent substitute for the original Power's neroli as it also carries the citrus aspect along with a slightly floral character. The cardamom imparts a crisp, soft spiciness, which also lends itself towards a citrus feel. The combination of bergamot and cardamom is the same as in the original Power and carries surprising "power" for a fragrance trying to emulate an eau de cologne. Although Kenzo Power Cologne was released approximately ten years ago, at that time, I already had the original Kenzo Power in my wardrobe. Therefore I did not pay too much attention to it being Cologne a flanker of it. However, a couple of weeks ago, I ran into a bottle of Cologne tester, and immediately my mind returned to that time, the original floral smell of that perfume made of a secret powdery, androgyne, and oriental aura created by Power. Without hesitation, I bought it for a ridiculous price. Several hours into its development, this prepossessing accord dries into a sensuous, mildly ambery, cedary talc with nary a sharp woody amber aromachem to be detected (what a relief, this was 2008). Just gorgeous, like a song that fades out very slowly. I think the durability is quite good. An office day without overtime should be enough The scent veil is also present, even if it is not extremely expansive. But one is perceived. The body of World Power though is centred on vanilla, or rather the interplay of vanilla and tonka bean. The former is sweet, spicy, creamy and rich, while the latter has nuances of hay, marzipan and bitterness. Together these notes create a soft, enveloping warmth that is starkly contrasted by the airy, mineral quality of the sea salt crystals. Together, these accords create a unique fragrance that is both heavy and light, warm and cold, edible and not. It’s truly fascinating to wear. The fragrance, however, is very fresh and fruity, so that you can wear it in spring and summer for leisure and sports. In the evening on a summer night it is just as well suited Too bad that the fragrance doesn't last that long, but I really enjoy the few fruity hours I have with the sprayers anyway.Although other fragrances like Prada L'Homme have been mentioned, this one still feels unique to me. My favorite part is the opening, as it just smells like a realistic bouquet of flowers. It's perfect for spring and fall, as well as summer evenings. You could also wear this in the winter if you want to lighten the mood, and the tolu balsam makes it appropriate for the cold.

Polge used the combination of bergamot and cardamom in the original Kenzo Power and so at the beginning he nods towards the past and to the present, at the same time.
