Description

Without a doubt, for most of their lineups, Orient dominates the affordable wristwear category. Whether it be timepieces for chronograph, dress watches, or for field activities, there are a number of affordable pieces from Orient. This strap is also soft, flexible, and comfortable. It’s a major improvement over a bracelet, and it gives the Bambino 36mm a proper dress watch look. By 1951, Tama Keiki changed its name to Orient Watch Company and began producing the Orient Star, with more models to come soon thereafter. And, almost right away, Orient Watch Company began marketing its timepieces overseas. While Orient is a large watch producer, it doesn’t have the same recognition stateside as some of its contemporaries. Enthusiasts get it, but those outside of the watch world don’t know the name.

One compliment about the Bambino is that it is neither too big nor too small, making it fit a lot of wrists. This characteristic makes it a great starter watch for beginners who haven’t nailed down the exact size of watch they want on their wrist. You are almost guaranteed that no matter your wrist size, this will look good on you. Orient Bambino Strap Sizing & Lug Width Orient and Seiko are also experts in this category. Use of materials, design, and scarcity are the biggest differentiators for this category. Generation 1 Bambinos use a 48743 movement while Generation 2 Bambinos & the Small Seconds use a F6722 movement. The Bambino Open Heart uses a F6T22 movement and the Version 5 uses the F6724 movement. Beginner watch enthusiasts won’t really notice much difference and all are comparable in reliability and quality. The Gen 2 versions (and Open Heart) will allow you to wind your watch and stop your second hand while adjusting the time, but other than that, the differences shouldn’t be enough to sway you either way if this is your first dress watch. We recommend buying a color and style you will be pleased with rather than concentrating on what’s inside. Orient Bambino Watch Size From a glance, Orient and Seiko dive watches have a lot of similarities. The two options sport a minimalist yet functional design with durable stainless steel bracelets. The Bambino is one of Orient’s best collections, no question about it. We’d even say it’s the most popular. It has beautiful dress watches, with a vast selection to choose from. This marks the COURAGE and CREATIVITY of Orient to merge modern designs with traditional features of a watch. Seiko: A Classic That Never Gets Old mm strap size of the Orient Bambino Versions 1-3 and Small Seconds is not that common, narrowing down your watch band options. The Version 4 has a more common 22-mm strap size.

Apart from the two generations, the Open Heart and the Small Second lines are present. Their names give you a hint at what they do.

The Bambino has been one of the best-selling collections of Japanese watchmaker Orient for years. Introduced a few weeks ago, the new versions of the model stand out with their more compact case – 38.4mm versus 40.5mm previously. We had been quite intrigued by the looks and specs of this automatic dress watch retailing at just EUR 275. So we thought we would ask for a model to review… And, without making too much noise, it’s typically a watch that looks and feels far more expensive than what it actually costs! Premium watches are much more difficult to compare as they don’t have a particular purpose to serve. The Bambino is minimalistic, but when light hits it, it’s going to shine. The watch comes with a sunray dial so it has a metallic-like effect. Being a relatively new company, Orient was forced to shut down. After the war ended, they introduced the company as “Tama Keiki Company” before rebranding themselves a year later to “Orient Watch Company”. The main dial also holds the second hand of the chronograph. This also indicates that the sub-dials contain the main second’s counter. Our Verdict: Which Is For You?

This Orient Star watch has 24 jewels and runs on a 40S60 caliber. Orient isn’t afraid to move away from traditional styles as well. The leather strap that the Bambino 36mm comes on is very nice. It’s a calfskin leather band with an alligator pattern. The dark brown with brown stitching is about as easy as it gets when it comes to matching to belts or shoes, as well. Orient Bambino Open Heart: A better option for those who prefer a more sophisticated dress watch. This is perfect for men leaning towards a more elegant style to complete their outfits. There aren’t any Arabic numerals, unlike set A’s watches. The lines aren’t too thin and are similar to the ones in version 4. The sunray effect compliments the metal bands. Although stainless steel is used, the watch isn’t that heavy.
