Firstly, high-quality gadgets and technology products tend to be more reliable. This means that they are less likely to break down or malfunction. When you’re relying on a product for an important task, such as work or communication, reliability is key. Investing in a high-quality RILEY RS1 V2 Electric Folding Scooter can give you peace of mind and help you avoid frustrating situations where your device fails you. The Riley RS1 Electric Scooter is the entry model from UK-based firm Riley Scooters. We believe that they are importing the Riley-branded scooters from China, but UK residents benefit from having a friendly voice on the end of a phone in the same country if something goes wrong.

The handlebars are fairly standard, but include the brake lever for the left hand and a natty blue twist throttle to make the scooter zip off. The brake cable is coloured in the same blue and looks nicely coordinated. The throttle also includes a power on/off button and a switch to choose between different levels of maximum acceleration – beginner, standard and pro. This is useful when you first start as everybody tends to be a bit wary. However, soon you’re always switching to pro… Lighting This allows you to easily carry it up stairs or through a train station, and at 13kg it's one of the lightest options on the market, although it's still important to remember that it will take some effort, depending on your strength level. Other than that, I found acceleration was very smooth and the ride comfortable, with the 10in pneumatic tyres doing a good job of gliding over bumps in the road. The scooter’s 350W motor is best experienced in Sports mode, which makes a huge difference when accelerating from standstill and climbing hills. For example, I could climb up small hills easily in Sports mode, but found the scooter came to a gradual halt when going up the same hills in Normal mode. The Riley RS1 comes with front and rear lights and only weighs 13kg and comes with 1 year warranty - Provided by Riley Directly TECHNICAL DATA:The Riley RS1 features a handy digital dashboard displaying your current speed, battery level, drive mode. It’s very easy to get tied up in motor this, wattage that, an often overlooked element of performance is the tyres. The Riley RS1 has 10” pneumatic tyres that provide plenty of grip and help smooth out imperfections of the road surface. I’m not a fan of honeycomb or solid tyres, and at Electroheads we think that the bigger wheels are significantly safer and better all-round. To top it all off, its lightweight folding aluminium alloy frame weighs just 13kg, making it highly transportable! So on your next adventure, enjoy the freedom to explore with the RS 1 Electric scooter. The Riley RS1 electric scooter is an innovative and practical scooter designed to offer the perfect balance between safety, reliability and most importantly – extreme fun!

The bright LED display sits in the middle of the handlebar, displaying speed, riding mode and battery status when you switch it on. The scooter’s throttle is located to the right of this small screen, with the brake and bell on the left. RS2 podjetja Riley Scooters na novo opredeljuje prevoz z električnimi skuterji, ki so zasnovani kot najbolj robustni in zmogljivi električni skuterji. Z vrtenjem palca začutite zagon, ko skuter pospeši do 25 km/h z brezkrtačnim pogonskim sklopom 700 W Peak in 350 W, zaradi česar si želite več. Ker ste prvi električni skuter z odstranljivim baterijskim paketom, se premikajte brez truda. RS2 ima tri varčne načine vožnje, tempomat in trpežen lahek okvir iz aluminijeve zlitine, odporen na vremenske vplive. Tehnične specifikacije Another important factor to consider is longevity. When you buy a high-quality RILEY RS1 V2 Electric Folding Scooter, you’re making an investment that is likely to last longer. Cheaper products may seem like a good deal at the time, but they are often made with lower-quality materials and are not designed to last as long. This means that you may end up having to replace your device sooner, which can end up costing you more in the long run. It’s also far more environmentally friendly to replace the battery when it’s spent – or, more likely, to fit a newer, larger-capacity version – rather than junk the entire scooter. Riley RS2 electric scooter review: Comfort and performance If one of my friends was looking for their first electric scooter, I’d point them in the direction of the RS1, time and time again. Reliable, practical, and simply a smile-inducing riding experience, this is a scooter I could confidently ride every day.

All the while an LED display between the handlebars lets you know exactly what’s going on; your speed in km/h, your battery level in 20% increments (though an idea of the remaining maximum distance possible would be better), and your speed setting. Braking is extremely efficient too. On top of the regenerative braking from the motor, there is a rear hydraulic disk brake (operated from the handlebars) as well as a pedal brake under the rear mudguard which you can stamp on. The hydraulic disk brake is certainly worth having as most scooters use a mechanical system which is not as efficient. Stopping is never an issue on the RS1! The motor on the E365 is 350W average power and the voltage is 42V as opposed to the typical 36V seen on most electric scooters in this range of operation. This gives it some decent pep but uplifts the weight to 13kg. This is a manageable weight but you can definitely feel it if you are lifting for more than a few minutes. Range is better than average for this price point at around 15-20 miles maximum depending on your weight. Tyres on the Hummingbird are 8.5 inches in diameter and they are solid rubber. While this means there is zero chance of punctures (there isn’t any air to escape!), it does mean that the ride is harsher than air-filled equivalents. We found that on smooth tarmac, the ride was fine, but as soon as we ventured over gravel and rougher woodland routes, it became a bit more jarring. Not a major issue for the occasional foray off-piste, but probably not the best scooter if that’s going to be your main pursuit. It’s easy to describe every electric scooter as ‘nippy’ but I really enjoyed the direct power deployment of the RS1 as I applied the throttle – it made me want to keep on riding, and also gave me the confidence getting going from a standstill. One other thing to mention is that the Kirin is not classed as waterproof. Now this may or may not be a dealbreaker for your intended use cases. After all, if you’re camping and need to whizz to the loos on your scooter (for a whizz!) then you need to be able to go whatever the weather. However, if you’re more likely to only use the scooter on dry day blasts then you can overlook this negative. Horses for courses as they say! The onboard E-ABS brake helps you regulate speed going downhill, while also recharging the battery. If your budget is limited but you still want a cool little scooter to zip around on then we urge you to take a look at the Kugoo Kirin S1 Electric Scooter. We were pretty blown away with the specifications of this little dude, and found that it did everything really well. The only real aspect that let’s the side down is the looks of it and the finish of some of the materials. Not the end of the world if you can overlook these shortcomings. Unlike the slightly more expensive Pure Air Go, the Riley RS1 doesn't have a companion app. This isn't a deal-breaker for us, as we find these apps aren't all that useful, but it's something to note. Riley RS1 electric scooter review: Verdict

The Kirin has both front and rear LED lights, and the front is surprisingly bright. It lit up the path I was testing it on at Kingsbury Water Park in the Midlands, but I was much more cautious than when using the scooter in pure daylight. There are three power modes which can be set on the display so if you’re new to riding electric scooters you can start at the lowest (6mph max) and work your way up. It can be quite unnerving at first to have so much power at your disposable derived from so little expended effort. You soon get used to it though! Braking and Ride Quality The Riley RS1 Scooter features a large 6.4Ah battery located in the head tube which can be removed when not in use.Of course, the beauty of the Riley RS1 is that you can swap the battery, so you may want to invest in a spare early on, or consider buying the more expensive RS2 which promises a maximum 28 mile-range per charge. After a recharge, I spent the next stint in Normal mode and the range was thankfully a lot better, with a few bars still remaining after a six-mile ride. READ NEXT: Are e-scooters legal in the UK?
