Melodrama works in conjunction to the extremity of the circumstances it is capturing. Shows like Violet Evergarden or this season’s My Happy Marriage work because the characters are in obviously extreme, easily to sympathize with circumstances. Though the tensions between the two schools is interesting, the manga has not succeeded in convincing me that this tension is so palpable that there are compelling stakes for these characters to interact with each other. Sorry that I went a bit too deep into the characters in the story section, but that's just to say how well the author used the story to be woven into the characters so well. The premise of this story is really nothing special, school for rowdy kids parked right next to an elite all-girls school, delinquent-looking boy

Kaoruko Waguri (FMC) - Petite beautiful cutie (my TYPE). On the outside she may even seem perfect but as you dive deeper into the manga you will see that this character is also just trying to find her own way in the world. To bring an example like Horimiya, shows why the manga did so well; especially in the earlier parts, due to how the characters drove the drama and overall story forwards. For a romance, this is typically how you write an amazing and classic manga because it's the characters we love, not just the overly dramatized moments - it's the combination of both. Plenty of other mangas have mastered this such as Kaguya-Sama, Maid-Sama, and even Ouran Host Club. Hodgkins, Crystalyn (July 1, 2023). "Kodansha USA Reveals 21 New Print Licenses, 3 Omnibus Releases, 2 Digital Licenses". Anime News Network . Retrieved July 1, 2023.The story in itself is simple and overdone, the typical Romeo and Juliet. But the author knows how to use that to their advantage, drawing out the characters to live through these situations and become their own. This cute and twisty manga spin on Romeo and Juliet is the latest hit in Japan, coming to print from a successful digital-first release! Rintarou Tsumugi (MC) - Tall scary misunderstood kind hearted dude. I could very well relate to this guy and his problems and you can actually learn throughout his journey real life scenarios in the manga. Story 10/10. The main reason I came into this was to see a romance blossom with out any harem or 3 way triangle bs and it does just that and more. Now the twist is I stayed because of how real the main characters are. All the characters have their own story

Harding, Daryl (February 2, 2023). "RuriDragon is Japanese Bookstores No. 1 Manga Recommendation of 2023". Crunchyroll . Retrieved March 5, 2023. Many manga and anime series have made me cried for sadness; but there's only been one who's made me cry true tears of joy and beauty; and that's "The Promised Flower Blooms With Diginity". Another that I think highly of is the characters are actually talking to one another, rather than creating one misunderstanding after another you see often. They might not fully agree with one another, but we see the characters still caring enough to understand the other side. This is why the story of Romeo and Juliet fits so well because the solution was always simple within these stories.Ok, let's jump right into it; this is a series that can best be described as a "palette cleanser". In a world chalk-full of harems, isekais, and high school romances where you literally can't go 3 chapters without either a panty flash, a character turning beet-red and running straight into the sun, and a loud "Baaaaaaaakaaa!!!!" followed by a literal slap from God (usually all of the above) this series is a wonderful breath of fresh air. Let's break it down. It's not often when I say that every single character written plays a huge role, in one way or another. They all express their doubts, self-worth, mistakes, and so much more without the intent of creating drama for the story. The author treats each character with care, understanding that they are not there to simply serve the plot but to have their own ego. Because "The Promised Flower Blooms With Diginity" does not speak just for its romance, which also does, and in a really refreshing way, that is. This series dugs into what being young really is about. The relevance of not being afraid of thinking that we can also be a part of someone else's happinnes and the importance of cherishing what makes us happy as well. Characters like Rintarou or Subaru really portrait this in a beautiful way. And that's probably what's made me cried so much. Horimiya abandoned the story later on, primarily and only has characters interacting with each other, but that's not something Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku has done. Instead of just focusing on character interactions, instead of abandoning the story, the manga instead consistently lets the story follow along with the characters.
