No automatic bed leveling - Neither of these printers include automatic bed leveling, which is a convenient feature that makes sure your first layer is the right height before each print. First layer height is a frequent cause of print failures, since starting too high will lead to the print detaching, while starting too low can restrict filament flow and cause jamming. Leveling manually is not hard, but you’ll need to pay more attention to leveling and being sure the first layer looks good.

While I am a huge fan of tiny 3D printers, the Ender 2 Pro is my least favorite. It’s a huge upgrade over the old Ender 2, but falls behind more popular options like the Prusa Mini and the Kingroon KP3S which are better equipped and have better print quality. This saves Creality labor time and keeps the price down. But even though the assembly of the Ender 3 V2 is a bit more complicated than that of the Ender 2 Pro, it is still easy to manage. Complete assembly takes no more than 30 to 45 minutes. The most complicated part of its assembly is the X-axis with toothed belt. Print Bed Leveling SLICER: The two most commonly used slicers for the Ender 2 Pro and the Ender 3 V2 are the Creality Slicer and Cura. There is little difference between the two slicers. The Creality Slicer is based on Cura. Cura is usually a bit more up-to-date in terms of features, but the Creality Slicer sometimes has better default profiles.PrusaSlicer has a profile for the Ender 2 Pro and it honestly works better than Creality’s or Cura’s programs for this machine. The Creality Ender 3 is the clear winner for build volume: it has a substantial volume of 220 x 220 x 250 mm. The Ender 2 Pro features a flexible magnetic PEI build plate, an increasingly popular style of bed. While flexible PEI beds provide excellent first-layer adhesion, the top surface of the bed is rugged, yielding a rough texture on the bottom of prints. For a smoother bottom surface on your Ender 2 Pro prints, you can switch to a glass build plate.

The free-swinging X-axis of the Ender 2 Pro has to be as light as possible to avoid vibrations. Creality has also managed this wonderfully, but this weight reduction has a somewhat negative effect on the noise level. To level (or tram) the print surface, first home the printer, then select “disable steppers” from the Motion Menu. Slide a piece of ordinary paper between the nozzle and the bed. Push the hotend to each corner and adjust the knobs until the paper just catches on the nozzle. The Ender 2 Pro and Ender 3 V2 are compatible with all popular slicers. However, the best standard profiles can be found in the Creality Slicer and Cura. Because the standard profiles are already very well tuned, you don’t have to calibrate too much. PRINT BED: Apart from the fact that the print bed of the Ender 2 Pro is smaller than that of the Ender 3 V2, the flexible and magnetic print bed of the Ender 2 Pro is very comfortable to If you just want to print small objects from time to time without much tinkering with the 3D printer, the Ender 2 Pro is better for you. OPERATION: The Ender 3 V2 has the edge in terms of operation. The color display is larger and the menu is clearer. You can also reach all important settings in no time with the Ender 2 Pro, but the menu of the Ender 3 V2 is arranged more sensibly and is nicer to look at. At around 45 decibels, it is slightly louder than the Ender 3 V2. The difference is not great, but it is noticeable. The Ender 3 V2 has TMC2208 stepper motor drivers which are a sought-after upgrade for many low-budget 3D printers. This makes the stepper motors much quieter. In addition, the Ender 3 V2 can still be upgraded with quiet fans, which could make it even quieter. Print Speed I had a small sample of Extrudr ASA filament so I thought I could try it out on the Ender 2 Pro with the Flexy Puppy to see how well does it handle higher temperature filaments. As you can see, the quality is pretty good on sections where there’s not a lot of retraction needed. In other places, there is inconsistent extrusion and I blame this on the high pressure which builds up in the hotend. Parts needed: Purchasable enclosure or DIY enclosure, including panels, hinges, screws, and other hardware. Limited build volume - While the Creality Ender 3 offers a fairly large build volume for the price, Creality offers many larger machines, with many printers capable of printing 300x300x300 mm or larger, such as the Ender 3 Max, which is very affordable for its size. If you are planning to print functional parts, a larger build volume is one of the most compelling reasons to go for a more expensive 3D printer.

The latest version of Cura (4.13.1) doesn’t have a profile for the Ender 2 Pro yet, so you’ll need to load the older Ender 2 profile and increase the bed size to 165 x165 x180. In addition to this protection, I have gotten into the habit of cleaning the nozzle regularly with a paper towel while the nozzle is at printing temperature.
