Description

Lezyne combines the best head- and rear lights and offers them paired. Powerful combinations with the best of both lights bundled. This ensures a great performance, makes choosing a head- ánd rear light easy and saves you money. The offered pairs are always cheaper then buying the LED’s loose. Battery life lasts anywhere from 1.5 hours on the highest mode to 87 hours if you go right down to the 15 lumen emergency option. There's a 'day flash' option for use when the sun is up, and switching modes was easy via the top mounted button which also serves as an indicator of how much juice is left in the tank.

Having had several Drive series lights running long term since they came out a few years ago, dependable reliability is definitely a strength and the price is great value considering the surprisingly powerful output. This gets even better if you get one of the ‘bundled with a rear light’ options Lezyne offers. Verdict For the size of the light the run-times are pretty impressive, often over-achieving not just hitting the targets, in use. The light can also spin full circle on the mount, which means you can arrange it horizontally and mount it to aerobars too. You can get a solid aluminium bar mount if you want ultimate stability, and these are now widely available for around a tenner. OutputThe Overdrive setting gave me 80 minutes at full brightness – compared with the claimed 90 minutes – before the beam started to weaken, though it didn’t cut out entirely until over the 90-minute mark. I tend to use both lights in "race mode" after dark, but in the daytime in the normal setup so I can use the pulse mode for additional visibility as needed. This is a sinusoidal "flash" that doesn't blow people's eyeballs out. I get migraines from sudden strobing flashes, so I do not use the daytime flash modes unless I believe my life is in danger. At dusk, I begin on the low-power femto/economy mode until it gets dark enough, then put it in race mode. Visibility is crucial when riding. Dark woods or a high speed road ride at dusk/night demands visibility to other traffic, for your own safety. Besides that, for a good ride in those conditions your own sight has to be optimal too. The right LED-lights on your bike can make all the difference in the world, in performance and experience. Many of our lights feature Overdrive Race Mode. While it's a great feature, it can occasionally cause a little confusion. If your light is missing its flashing modes, or your light only has two modes, then you have probably activated this feature.

The KTV Pro rear emits up to 75 lumens and lasts anywhere between 4 to 19.5 hours, with a daylight mode available and promised 270 degree visibility. It came in at 52g.The beam shape isn't anything particularly special – it's basically round, and a little narrower than some – but it's throwing out plenty of light for the money, and you can deal with more or less anything in Overdrive mode. They are all rechargeable, some of the batteries are build-in and some can be removed/replaced. All batteries can be bought in the shop. Like all Lezyne lights these days the mount is a chunky rubber strap which has the benefit of being very simple, but if you're heading off-road you might find the grip on the bar isn't quite strong enough to keep it pointing where you want it over the rougher stuff, and trying to use the top button in gloves can shove the light about too. I've not had a problem on the roads, though, and hanging it below the bar helps if you do find it slipping. It's a good job it lasts so long, because when it came to charging, this is where I found my first issue: the charge port for the micro-USB cable is narrow, deep and fiddly, leaving you rummaging around inside to get the pin to connect. Most mini-USB chargers won't fit because the plastic body behind the charge pin will be too wide to for the Macro 1100's port, so you need to use the one supplied.
