Tomu, Ohmi (2007). "Chapter 5". Midnight Secretary (in Japanese). Vol.1. Shogakukan. p.189. ISBN 978-4-09-130857-3. So, Kaya files for a transfer away from the man who will never return her feelings, far from constant reminders that she truly means nothing to him. I don't usually read the romance genre - I just liked the idea of a vampire being secretly the CEO of a company without anyone knowing. Then there was a whole witch subplot with the main female lead, which was more than I was expecting, but coming from fantasy books I would've liked to see more of that. I'm aware that's not the priority of this book though, so I won't hold that against it too much.

Their relationship grows, but they have some inner problems. Kaya isn't sure whether she is just a "meal" for him, just his secretary, or something more. Kyouhei believes that Kaya is only doing her secretarial duty by keeping her boss in good health, which is what she says, but he wants her to let her guard down. Kyouhei is also a very prideful vampire and it's looked down upon to fall in love with a human. Touma is your basic Alphahole Hero--he's arrogant, rude, condescending, womanizing (though that's partially out of necessity) and controlling. He chides Kaya constantly about her "plain" appearance and makes unreasonable demands even BEFORE Kaya finds out he's a vampire. Kaya for her part is more timid in these early chapters, but what seems softness and hesistance on her part morphs into just how committed she is to being the BEST secretary she can be under any circumstances.General thoughts: I was very surprised to find this book in my local train station book store - the US hasn't had any of Tomu Ohmi's mangas licensed yet, and although this series was quite popular in scanlation circles I hadn't heard of a German license. I'm sure if I try to read this manga again in about 3 years I'll go crazy, however, actually this manga was very addictive to read, I felt like I was 13 again, at least until part of it.

There is also some twists in this series. Which is baffling to me because I think the author forgets that you aren't actually supposed to see the twist coming. Thats why its called a twist. Viz Media Offers an Office Romance with a Dark Twist in the Manga Launch of Midnight Secretary" (Press release). San Francisco, CA: Anime News Network. Viz Media. August 19, 2013. Midnight Secretary follows the relationship between Kaya Satozuka, a private secretary, and her boss, Director Kyouhei Touma of the Touma Company, who is a vampire. This is part one of the three part serial series, Vampire CEO by Erin R. Bedford. I’ve never read anything by Ms. Bedford before so I really had no idea what to expect and what a wonderful surprise this was.Until then, when she’s not writing, Erin is devouring as many books as possible on her quest to have the biggest book gut of all time. She’s written over thirty books, ranging from paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and even scifi romance.

Hello Gemmies! I have an entertaining new manga review to share with you today. Midnight Secretary Volume 2 by Tomu Ohmi is the second magna in the Midnight Secretary Series. This was such a fun read that I devoured it in one sitting, and decided to binge the entire series! The cover design is sleek, modern, yet whimsical. This time Kyohei is front and center. Holy Burns Evil: Whenever the vampires are actually evil is up to debate, but they are weakened by the symbols and places of sincere faith. Kaya gets a crucifix for one of Kyouhei's women with no ill effects on him, but Kyouhei barely copes with eating at a restaurant located in a former church, with Matsuhide the chauffeur revealing that the devout Christian faith of the owner and his wife (who the dinner meeting is with) is why Kyouhei is in a bad state (he's unsteady and extremely hungry in the limo afterward). Great characters, great development. They pass trough all stages of love like denial, fury, acceptance and mutual affection. In work they know what they are there for and at night they know it too. Humans have human troubles, but the vampires doesn't share them. They have other affairs, usually even more serious. And their behavior is pretty realistic. The good parts were. the family drama, art was nice. There were boobs even though the sex was pretty weak. And i like boobs. Drama plus boobs = 3/10 1 for each boob Rebecca Silverman (2013-10-27). I highly recommend reading this paranormal romance novella as it is fabulous. So excited for book 2 in this remarkable series. a b Tomu, Ohmi (2007). "Chapter 6". Midnight Secretary (in Japanese). Vol.2. Shogakukan. p.42. ISBN 978-4-09-131206-8. Midnight Secretary is a Josei manga series by Ohmi Tomu, which was serialized in Petit Comic from 2006 to 2009 and compiled into seven volumes. It tells the story of a conservative secretary, Satozuki Kaya, who is appointed as the private secretary of notorious lecher Touma Kyouhei, director of the Touma tableware company.

When drawing the main character Kaya Satozuka, author Ohmi Tomu used actress Hiromi Nagasaku and her own sister-in-law as references for Kaya's appearance. [7] She also used her sister-in-law as a basic model for Kaya's personality because of her firm and resolute nature. [7] Kaya's undergarments were given a certain degree of attention because of Tomu's penchant for lace underwear. [4] The amount of exposure was increased in later chapters as the story progressed. On closer perusal of the publishers this is a VIZ Europe division that has so far released Anime in German, and they are branching out into manga this year - with Midnight Secretary as one of the launch series. Other launch titles include Toriko, Blue Devil and Akuma to Love Song (which IS licensed in the US but under the title Devil and her Love Song). Considered to be the "perfect secretary" yet constantly criticized for her ultra-conservative dress style by her boss, Director Kyouhei Touma of the Touma Company, Kaya lives a normal life until she finds out that her employer is actually a vampire. Despite uncovering his identity, she dedicates herself to serving the Director to the best of her abilities. The early part of the story focuses on the trials and tribulations of Kaya's increasingly hectic workload, then shifts to the developing personal relationship between her and the Director.

The book starts out exactly where part two ended. Abigail Blanchard is face to face with her boss from Midnight Pharmaceuticals only that he is also the owner of the club she was applying for a job at since she wanted to quit Midnight Pharm. You see, things between she and Sebastian Storm, her boss, had gotten a bit complicated. And she felt it was just better to get a different job. Now, Sebastian wants an explanation. Why is she looking for a new job? Volume 5 reached #8 on the Oricon/Tohan manga sales chart for 11–17 November 2008, [23] and volume 6 reached #18. [24] Enjoyment: Well, like I said before, it was fun like reading a fanfic until one part, after that it got boring.
