Description

The building currently serves as the headquarters of the National YoungArts Foundation. Miami citizens began a campaign to label the buildings as "historic". The Bacardi Buildings Complex has been a locally protected historic resource since Oct. 6, 2009, when it was designated by unanimous decision by the Historic and Environmental Preservation Board. Light rum is used in traditional mojitos. I love light rum, but you can use dark rum if you prefer the taste. I have been to one bar that combines both rums, and the drink was delicious. Recently I have tried making mojitos with Appleton Estate Rum and found it makes a tasty dark rum mojito. a b Gjelten, Tom (2008). Bacardi and the Long Fight for Cuba. New York: Viking. This alcoholic drink originating from Cuba over 500 years ago has been popular in Britain for hundreds of years. It consists of just five main ingredients: rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water, and mint. I am not saying your rum has to be expensive. Not at all! After all, the bartenders masked the taste of bad quality rum when making a mojito in the past, so you can get away with a decent white rum. But don't use a spiced rum, because the spices crash with the freshness of citrus and mint!

In 2007 Chad Oppenheim, the head of Oppenheim Architecture + Design, described the Bacardi buildings as "elegant, with a Modernist [look combined with] a local flavour". [27] In April 2009, University of Miami professor of architecture Allan Schulman said "Miami's brand is its identity as a tropical city. The Bacardi buildings are exactly the sort that resonate with our consciousness of what Miami is about." [28] Fresh mint is the one ingredient that makes a mojito a mojito, whether you use a dark rum mojito recipe or a Bacardi mojito recipe. However, one secret ingredient for my mojitos makes them extra yummy! I hope you will agree after you try it. Still, if you don’t, no worries, as this Mojito Bacardi Recipe offers plenty of variations, including for those who prefer a dark rum mojito recipe and those who would rather a more healthy mojito recipe. Classic Mojitos are traditionally prepared with white rum. We suggest having fun playing around with the Bacardi rum product line, muddling mojitos with flavoured, spiced and aged dark rums.

If, like me, you think the mint is the best part, keep using 12 leaves. This version is very good, but as much as I like lime, I still prefer the mojito made with unflavored white rum. To me, there’s a nice balance of flavors. And, a lot less sugar (practically a diet drink!). Bacardi Limited is headquartered in Hamilton, Bermuda, and has a board of directors led by the original founder's great-great grandson, Facundo L. Bacardí, the chairman of the board. [4] History [ edit ] Early history [ edit ] When preparing a traditional mojito, fresh lime juice is added to sugar (or to simple syrup) and mint leaves. The mixture is then gently mashed with amuddler. The mint leaves should only be bruised to release the essential oils and should not be shredded or sliced. There are many variations of the traditional Cuban mojito recipe. So if you do not have easy access to some of the traditional ingredients, you can use an alternative ingredient.

But either way, the beauty of a mojito is that you can add and subtract as much as you like - as long as you have the basic mojito ingredients there!
