Description

While it is not possible to accurately replicate the relative sizes and distances of each Solar System body in such a small space, we have made sure that the planets are different sizes and they can be placed at different distances from the Sun. Giving your children the opportunity to build a visual representation of the position of all eight planets in the solar system allows them to engage on a new level with the content and see for themselves how the principle of gravity and rotation around the sun works. Send your kids on an epic Space Scavenger Hunt to test their knowledge and understanding of space and the planets in our solar system. What are the planets in the solar system?

Mars - named after the Roman god of war, it is also sometimes referred to as the "Red Planet". It is the second-smallest planet in our solar system.Children can be given the choice of medium to colour their planets in, such as paints, crayons and coloured sand etc. By combining art with other subjects like science, children are more likely to retain knowledge learnt in the activity because of its visual aspect. Art is also important in fostering creative expression and imaginative ideas. It’s also a great facilitator of communication through sharing ideas, as well as developing critical thinking and the ability to interpret the world around us. But in the long run, your kids will have enough brain exercise by the time they are done solving the puzzles. When the puzzle is complete, they have a dimension of just 750mm X 500mm, which doesn’t take up much space. As you may know, the Earth's axis is tilted over by 23.4 degrees and the Earth's North Pole currently points at the star known as Polaris - the North Star. The app is arranged so that the view is fixed to the stars and that Polaris is always off the top of the screen (and not shown). This means that the Earth's north pole is (currently) pointing towards the top of the screen, and the south pole towards the bottom. During the summer months of the northern hemisphere the north pole is pointing more towards the Sun and so the Earth is shown below the Sun. During the summer months of the southern hemisphere, the south pole points towards the Sun and so the Earth is shown above the Sun. The visuals are remarkable and unconsciously teaches the kids how our solar system looks like. Since the puzzles are sturdy paper material-made, they will last longer for a prolonged learning experience. Realistic Physics: Experience the breathtaking beauty of scientifically accurate gravitational interactions and celestial mechanics. Witness the awe-inspiring consequences of your every action as you set celestial bodies on collision courses, triggering cataclysmic events that defy imagination.

Throw your little kids into frenzy moments with these hanging mobile solar systems. They comprise of high-quality plastic, paper gores, and wire that supports them. They hang and move while the wire remains invisible so you kids can understand the scope of the universe from a 3D human scale. Earth - our home! Only 29.2% of Earth's surface is made up of land. The remaining 70.8% is covered with water. Jupiter - the largest planet in our solar system. It is a gas giant with a mass 2.5x that of all the other planets in the Solar System combined! Gifting your 5-year-old kid with these jigsaw puzzles is a great idea. These puzzles challenge your kids to create a diorama of the solar system. The process is challenging enough to create some ample opportunity for the kid’s problem-solving skills improvement.

Solar System Map of Current Planetary Positions

Both apps show a solar system map - a "plan view" of the planets laid out in the plane of the ecliptic (the flat plane in which all the main planets move about the Sun). Simulate the Universe: Harness the forces of nature and become a cosmic architect as you explore the boundless expanse of space. Craft and customize your own planetary systems, from the tiniest asteroids to massive gas giants. To create your mobile, if you need to, join your shorter dowels together to create 2 x 60cm lengths.
