a b c Berger, Ivan (March 1973). "Our dream was to change photography". Popular Mechanics . Retrieved 31 May 2019. The SX-70 is a folding single lens reflex Land camera which was produced by the Polaroid Corporation from 1972 to 1981. The SX-70 helped popularize instant photography. It takes a little trial and error to find the sweet spot for your camera. And as I mentioned, sometimes the film is just not 100%.

In my opinion, it’s the best Polaroid camera out there, AND it will always be a conversation piece whenever you pull one out. If you’re into aesthetics, the design of the SX-70 Land Camera truly cannot be beat. It’s the most beautiful camera out there, especially when it comes to instant cameras. As I said from the start, I freaking love this camera. But I think it’s incredibly important for those jumping into the Polaroid SX-70, or any Polaroid in general, to have realistic expectations of results.

MiNT Camera modified SX-70's into their SLR670's (it uses 600 film natively without needing to add a neutral-density filter). New features include the Time Machine add-on (manual shutter speed from 1/2000s to 1s as well as bulb mode) for the SLR670-S and the SLR670-X, 600 film (ISO 640) compatibility under the "Auto 600" mode. The SLR670 allows for additional shutter/brightness control. MiNT also produces flash bars and filter lenses intended for the SX-70. [12]Alongside the ‘prosumer’ range of folding SLRs, Polaroid released many plastic-bodied, non-folding consumer cameras that used the SX-70 integral film. Several lines varied in the type and amount of features they offered but fell into three distinct categories differentiated by the method of focusing: The Land Camera 1000 is an instant camera manufactured by Polaroid Corporation. In the United States, it was marketed as the OneStep. Based on the Polaroid SX-70, the camera includes a one element plastic lens, fixed focus and an exposure compensation dial knob. It uses the SX-70 time zero film, now manufactured by Polaroid Originals. There is a flash made explicitly for this model: the Q-light flash. They had two unique shutter colours: red and green. Polaroid I-2 review: The best instant camera doesn't come cheap". DPReview . Retrieved September 25, 2023. Sturge, John (1977). 'One-Step Photography' by Land, Rogers & Walworth in 'Neblette's Handbook of Photography and Reprography' . Van Nostrand Reihhold. p.258. A lot of the technology used in the folding SX-70 cameras was later used in the production of rigid "box" type SX-70 cameras, such as the Model 1000 OneStep, Pronto, Presto and The Button. These models, although also utilizing SX-70 film, are very different from the folding SLR SX-70s.
