VC doesn't work from Tamron lenses. Should be turned off or images will be super soft. In body stabilizer seems to work. This is not the case. While the technology has been floating around for some time, converters/adapters have now began maturing to the point where virtually any lens system, even those with advanced autofocus and profiles, can be used to full effect with power-punching mirrorless camera set ups. But not all adapters are created equal. Enter the Sigma MC-11 converter ↓ The Canon 135/2.0L is regarded as one of Canon’s sharpest lenses - it surely is sharp when it hits the button. The MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 allows you to use your SIGMA EOS mount interchangeable lenses with the Sony E-mount camera body.

I shall have to await events - but for anyone thinking about using a collection of EF mount lenses on an L-Mount camera body the Fotodiox Fusion seems to be a much better bet unless you only have the Sigma-brand EF lenses only. I'm not comparing to "most other adapters". I'm comparing to the Metabones adapter. Can you point to anyone who has done a comparison of the two and concluded that the Sigma adapter has wider and better compatibility than the Metabones adapter? I already shared my experience for birds in flight ( read the Red Kites article here) where I got an overall 50% keeper rate with the A7r II and 60% with the a6300, which I consider quite good. A6300, 1/2000, f/8, ISO 800 – 150-600mm Contemporary However, until someone does a side-by-side comparison of both adapters and lots of lenses, we're both just conjecturing. This I fully agree with - but I have the feeling that Sigma having been the only serious manufacturer of an electronic EF-L adapter has been letting the L-Mount side down somewhat - this could be more especially obvious if some EF bonus lenses are compatible on the MC-11 and not so on the MC-21. I would have found this easier to accept if there had not been some fulsome praise in the past for the compatibility of the Sigma MC-11 adapter which I don’t ever remember being put as “great with Sigma EF lenses only”. I don’t remember anyone ever mentioning that it was not compatible with any particular Canon EF lens. As far as the bonus lenses were concerned the bonus lenses did not have limitations. With the MC-11 in place, the Focus Area options available on the A7R III are limited to Wide, Center and Flexible Spot (Large, Medium or Small) in both Single and Continuous AF. Neither Automatic AF (A-AF) nor DMF modes are available. achieve the same effect as when it is adjusted manually.• It has improved the accuracy of exposure when it is used with dedicated flashes manufactured by SONY.

I also have heard that the MC-11 generally works fairly well with EF mount lenses on Sony E/FE mount. It has become compatible with the SIGMA 30mm F1.4 DC HSM | Art for CANON EF mount, that has the latest firmware Ver.2.00.The only limitation I find annoying is that you can’t force the camera to use phase detection points only. It selects which system to use automatically (like with E-mount lenses) and can slow down the speed in Single AF where the camera seems to prefer contrast detection. However with the EF 85/1.2L it is as slow as watching grass grow in AF that we are glad that at least MF is available - as it is with the following list of Canon EF lenses where it fails to AF completely: Functionally, the converter performs as advertised and depending on your expectations perhaps even better. The AF speed with my Sigma test lens were great and that was the selling point for this author. This is certainly a converter that I would use daily without hesitation. The MC-11 converter of course works with the majority of Sigma’s glass including their Contemporary, Sport, and Art lines of lenses. At the time of this writing there are 22 total lenses which are compatible with the MC-11 and that number continues to grow. As it stands, only Canon EF mounts and Sigma SA Mount versions of the converter are available. Sorry Nikon users. A nifty little feature of the MC-11 is the LED indicator light for lens compatibility. There is a small LED light close to the base of the adapter that lets you see if the lens you have attached is compatible with the MC-11 adapters current firmware.
