Description

That to me sounds like the ring gear on the rear diff which is the major weakness in the TT02B drivetrain. It will keep going for a while yet if its intermitrant. You have a few options. Time for proper build Topic of TT-02B Plasma Edge II. "Proper" because my previous build was more like questions topic.

I really recommend to use sand paper on "cross" which holds gears. There is line where moulds are joined together and gears do not spin freely. Few passes of 800 grit, than 1200 and 2500. I am also trying not to do things "for future". I did this with my other hobbies and really regretted in many cases. I've run a TT-02 with a 32T Pinon (made by MST) + 63T spur and you need to trim the gear cover (part D3) from the inside a bit as this large pinion will rub. I suspect that a 31T pinion *might* be small enough to not need trimming. Length: 370mm, Width: 250mm, Height: 160mm ★Wheelbase: 266mm ★Tread: 217mm (Front), 208mm (Rear) ★Bathtub-type Chassis FrameJust how durable is the TT02B? I see it getting recommended over older design buggies. I don't own one. From what I hear, it has poor ground clearance and problem with the rear geartrain. Rereleases often seen touted as fragile things. Aside from the A5 part, I never found the Terra Scorcher to be fragile (or any of the T-Shot buggies) and honestly don't think of the Hot Shot series as really delicate either. The Terra Scorcher in particular was a pretty good performing buggy in its day. The standard kit 70T spur, with FDRs that can go all the way down to 7.28, is already great for a buggy. Gear Ratio=10.71:1 (with kit-included pinion gear) ●Type 540 Motor ●Requires an Electronic Speed Controller (sold separately) EDIT: Since the TT-02B kit comes with a steel 17T pinion, a good option could be just to keep it (motor mounted on position B). I confirm the ball bearings kit is NOT the same up to a certain point. Indeed, the size of the bearings for the wheels are slightly smaller than the one for the TT02B. Thus on my Tt02, I was only able to install the driveshaft and the diff ones.

This is a Limited-Edition version of the Plasma Edge II off-road buggy. The body is pre-painted in Tamiya’s PS-46 Iridescent purple/green color. The body sits on top the easy to build TT-02B chassis for fun off-road driving! There is a lot of upgrades for that model and I really wonder which ones are a must to have (like the metal diff for example).

Shipping costs for bulky goods:

wheel double wishbone suspension features oil dampers, and iscombined with high-grip spiked tires to give excellent traction. We ship with DHL Premium instead of DHL Economy. This means that deliveries are usually twice as fast as with DHL Economy. I wouldn't spend the money on the steering kit, the plasric works fine but there is a bit of slop in it. Personally I keep my TT02Bs as standard as possible and just do necessary things for durability. Put the money you would spend towards a better kit to start with. The DB01 is an option, otherwise you're looking at a different brand. Bathtub-type frame has longitudinal battery and R/C mechanism placed flat for low center of gravity. While the TT02S is better with different suspension, the R's are just the base TT02 with some hopups. I'm not a fan of the TT02 other than as a great basher or for the entrt level racing class.

I really recommend Tamiya cutters. Quality is very high and makes work really easy and fast. Do not use those cheap cutters.i’m pretty happy with the tt02b as is for the moment, but if you see other suggestions to improve or to anticipate wear out or break, please don’t hesitate the plastic dogbones work well, but they can limit steering and suspension travel so while not needing replacing immediately it’s something to put on the long term list. when I accelerate, sometimes, i hear like the pinion is missing a tooth of the spur gear. but it is totally random and not especially when I go to full throttle. May be I can use your tips ? or do I need another support for the motor The GPM gears had some tolerance issues with the first batch, but I haven't read of anyone having any issues with more recent batches, so since they are easier to find than the DF-02 diffs and require no modification, this would be my recommendation. I chose the Plasma Edge II because it reminded me of the old buggies, I don't like the cab forward designs of today. A mate had a Kyosho Outrage BITD which was essentially the plastic version of the Ultima and looks similar to Plasma Edge II. Another mate has just bought the Dual Ridge because he thinks it looks like the Kyosho Salute from BITD which his brother raced
